    Trap / Skeet on Saturday?

Anyone know any clubs/ ranges that run their trap or skeet on Saturdays? Both clubs I belong to are Sunday only and I'm looking to shoot a few rounds this Saturday.

North Leominster does, or used to. But that might be a ride for you.

Independent Sportsmen's Club in Foxboro is open Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday nights. They are located not too far from the intersection of routes 1 and 152.

    Non-members are welcome.

The place down in Sharon does saturdays, trap and skeet. Not sure if I'll be shooting saturday. Sunday is a definite, trap in the morning and sporting clays in the afternoon. I'll hit you up on the facetubez

Addieville in Mapleville, RI does sporting clays on Sat and Sunday (I'm itching to try their club)
Massapoag in Sharon starts at 10:00. Skeet and trap. Great guys.
Eight Point in Sterling MA shoots trap and skeet 1-3:00 on Saturdays
Westford has Sporting clays Saturday (Jan-September) and Sunday (October-December). They have trap too on Sundays at 1:00, but why would you if you can shoot SC?

Thanks Mike. Sharon's not too far from me, Sterling not that bad either. I assume they're open to the public/no membership required?

Yup. I'm not a member and shot at Massapoag on Saturday. It's $6 a round, which is a bit pricey.
Sterling is $3. Haven't been there yet, though.
I've been trying to compile a list...

Yeah, compiled this largely from claytargetsonline. They didn't have my club either which is a pretty active trap range.
    Thanks. I'll add Danvers.

I'm definitely down to shoot Saturday, and where I go will depend on whether or not anyone else wants to meet up as I'm pretty flexible.

Re: Trap / Skeet on Saturday?

I got lucky on Saturday. Went to my range to pattern my gun and bumped into one of the trap committee members. Got an unexpected 4 rounds of trap and got to put in a bunch of work on shooting with both eyes open (I'm right handed, left eye dominant). Still needs work, but I shot with both eyes open all weekend and did OK considering

Shot an awesome two rounds of sporting clays in Westford on Sunday. I'd be back out today if I could.

I'm also right-handed and left eye dominant. Not an easy thing to deal with. My coaches in high school actually attempted to switch me over to shooting lefty.

Re: Trap / Skeet on Saturday?

Yeah, it sucks. I have real weird eye dominance issues. If I shoulder the gun on the left my right eye decides to take over. Thanks a lot, stupid eye.

I started rocking one of these Easy Hit sights. You can't see the dot with your left eye (right hand shooter):
Amazon.com : Champion EasyHit 2.5mm Diameter Shotgun Sight (2.75-Inch, Green) : Hunting And Shooting Equipment : Sports & Outdoors

I've been really happy with it. It still feels very weird to keep both eyes open, but I'm still new and wanted to avoid getting stuck with one eye shooting. I'm definitely still missing birds due to eye dominance, but I'm only a few hundred birds into it. They make different diameters and brightnesses. I'm hoping I can just train my way through it and eventually not need it.

I'm the same. Righty but left eye dominant. Because of that, I switched to shooting long guns lefty when I was young

With smallbore it was a bit easier, as I'd just wear a blinder on the left eye. Doesn't really translate with shotgun though.

Re: Trap / Skeet on Saturday?

I think I might want to get one of those tube sights too, even if you have normal eye dominance, it helps to get you lined up nicely when shouldering. If you can see the green, you know you're good to go.

I am shouldering more consistently now but still not able to do it very quickly. Need more practice, most likely.

Holy shit is sporting clays fun... had a blast yesterday.

It would be nice if I could just retire now, so I'd have enough time for all my hobbies...

Trap at Danvers?.. two fields from 9-11.. Backup at 27 yards at 11. $6 entry, randomly paired. 60/40 cash split for 1st/2nd place. Backup's fun. In?

Didn't see this but I was tied up saturday anyways.

I did shoot trap sunday morning in Acton and sporting clays sunday afternoon in Westford. That's going to continue to be the hot setup for me, I think.
