    Unemployment Fraud

Just as a warning, unemployment fraud is going rampant right now. People are trying to claim unemployment payments in your name. We had three people in our office of 10 get hit in the past two weeks. It is a simple correction, but it would appear the fraudsters can easily obtain SS numbers or at least the last 4. Be aware and tell your HR personnel to be on the watch for the notices from the UE office. That is how we found out about it. We did call the UE office and they said the problem is crazy right now, constant barrage of fake claims. Hate to see any of you get to pay taxes on UE claims come next year.

Been rampant since the first UE aid program went live.

    Re: Unemployment Fraud

My wife got a notice from the state about a claim. There should have been a red flag on the application because the fraudsters didn't even get her name right. We're not sure whether they had paid anything out of not. MA has a web page to notify them of fraudulent claims. Hopefully she's all set now.
