    This was a great week!

    This past week I:

Got the part time gig that I wanted.

Found a newer and sweeter place to reside not too far from where I'm at now.

Headed a rather significant project at work with much success.

    Personally spoke with Lee Parks.

Completed some much-needed work on the truck.

And on Sunday I cheated death! (no really, I did.)

When it rains it pours and that's sometimes a good thing!

    Carry on.

Can someone start a poll for the MASTER OF AMBIGUITY ???

I don't know if it's intentional or whether he actually fails to recognize the impact of unexplained statements like this. But nearly every one of his posts evokes a WTF from me!!!

We're glad you cheated death Paul...really. I think...

    ....whatever that means....

    Well I did.

Sunday: Put the truck up on ramps for a little maintenance, ended up emptying the rear diff oil only to realize the truck needs to come off the ramps for proper filling of the diff.
Friend Kenny manned the truck while I "chased" the diff with a drain pan as the truck rolled down the ramps (remember, the diff is wide open right now and draining oil), truck got to a certain point and both ramps shot out from underneath the tires.
I was laying on a creeper underneath the truck and as the suspension compressed from the truck shooting the ramps out, my head got a little squeeze from the spare tire ....pretty scarey but kinda funny too.

Any other part of the truck (trailer hitch for example) and I woulda been hurtin' real bad.

My first real scare working on a vehicle since I've been working on vehicles so I I'm not doing too bad. Just thought it was an interesting ending to an otherwise unforgetful week.

Cheated death, sure. But you would have been a prime candidate for the 2008 Darwin Awards, so I guess it can go both ways.

Learn from this... An experience like that when I was 17 is why I don't even think about going under a car unless it's secure on jackstands.

Don't make the same mistake twice - make new and creative ones everytime...

Next time, tie/secure the oil pan under the diff. No oil spilled, and no danger!

It wasn't my gargage floor to dump gear oil on.

Like I said, it was a first. Since I bought them, those ramps haven't kicked out on me once until this past Sunday.

I don't want people to think I was stuck under there or anything....I wasn't. The truck's suspension bounced when the ramps shot out and I was basically bumped by the spare tire.

Next time won't happen like that. I'll put the diff cover back on before anything...

All in all it was a stupid mistake based on being comfortable with the conditions...the "trustworthy" ramps, etc.
