    Wesfalia or Similar Conversion Van

I am in the process of buying one of the above. I have a few months before I would actually need it so there is no rush to buy right now. That said if I come across the right one...... Probably looking at Sub 10k price range. So If any of you guys see anything let me know!!!

Ownin' a conversion van in the USA means you don't have to waste your time goin' home, 'cause you're already there, you guys.

Pretty much, I will be going nomad this winter and traveling across the country with my snowboards a shitload of film etc. At a point in my life I can do this and I sure as hell am going to take advantage of it.

I don't know what you found, but you are gonna get WAY more van for your buck with a conversion. Westfalias are over priced, under powered, and expensive to fix. They ARE cool though!!! If I had money, I'd buy one with the subaru conversion and full safari kit! (70k ish)

They may be all those things, but there is a character that regular conversion vans just don't have.

Are you looking for hookups at the co-op? Or a less expensive reliable way to have a life changing adventure, other than acid.

LMAO. I think the right conversion van has some underground coolness that the obvious westfalia can't touch. Think A team!

    Obviously.

I am looking at a westfalia and then a syncro this weekend. Not saying that a regular van is out of the picture at all, but considering I am going to be living out of it for an extended period of time I want what I want. My parents went across the country in one and so have a bunch of other family and friends so I also have a sort of tradition I want to keep up. Plus if I get one that just means I get to piss you guys off with my hipster instagram pics of it pbr and my meals.

In all seriousness, VW camper vans are much like racing. It looks like fun, then things happen, and it gets EXPENSIVE. I fully support your endeavor, I know it will be epic. And it doesn't matter what any of us say, you will make it happen!

sorry for the thread jack - can you use any of these vans to transport a bike in the van itself? Westfalia probably not, maybe a Eurovan though. What about an Astro or a Safari?

Would be cool to load the bike into the van rather than hauling a trailer

hmmmm.......are any of these vans available with 3 pedals? Eurovan is available with a 5speed manual trans but they're rare. Probably under 20mpg though. But I'm getting less than 18mpg now.......

Not sure if I would want to drive around the country with a 5.7, but that would be perfect for my east coast needs....and since you're not gonna be here this winter there would be 1 less person to squeeze into it. Carla already called your spot.
