    World Cup weekend

Oh man... what day. I went down to Government Center to watch the game on the gigantic big-screen they had down there and we were smack dab in the middle of it all. It was intense... thousands of people showed up to watch & the atmosphere was just crazy.

Afterwards a bunch of us went to The Tap, ate & drank. Then we walked all through the north end to watch the craziness... Went to La Contes, a restaraunt in the north end... ate & drank some more... Then to a bar on Boylston... ate & drank some more good times

Oh & we saw a bunch of goofballs packed in a Taho & get searched... cops pulled out a box of ammo & a rifle

so spill it... anyone else take part in the craziness?

Ehh, I watched it in high def at my friends place, but I didn't want italy to win.

Otherwise, I heard that (native) italians on the whole are much better fans because when they win, they spread love (hugs, kisses, alcohol, cheering, etc.). American red sox fans celebrate a win through hate by trashing the streets and flipping cars.

Well I don't really want this to turn into a thread about sox fans, but I believe sox fans are just like any other passionate fans... it's just the punk & drunk college kids in this high college density town that get all the sensationalized bad press. And considering the number of people that were down on Lansdown St. when we won the World Series (I was there, so I saw) I thought it went rather well. (Excluding the Victoria Snelgrove incident)

There were a fair share of idiots & a-holes in the streets in the North End, they were just outnumbered by the reasonable adults.

I'm pissed. I was in VT all last week with no TV.

The Tivo grabbed the final and I watched the final last night.. but of course it didn't get the overtimes.

I really want to see what Zidane did to cause such a stir. Maybe he can switch over to UFC. But I guess I didn't miss much if it went to a shootout.

I was down in the North End for about 10 minutes a while after the game ended, then decided to go over to Bell n' Hand. It was madness.

I don't follow soccer at all, so I didn't pretend to be a fan like the numerous bandwagon jumpers over the last few weeks. It's a great sport, I played it growing up, but never got into watching it.

    World Cup weekend

I think it was cool to watch soccor this year. Never in my life have I ever heard or seen anyone talk about the world cup, this year everyone has to see it and cheer. My brothers girlfriend was very concerned with rolling the balls off the field to the ballboys, she go really worked up and cheered about it.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
