LAX - crowded, dirty, tons of traffic getting in and out...but FREE MOTORCYCLE PARKING

LGB/SNA - smaller, nicer, easier to get in and out of....if you fly to Long Beach you can Uber to my house for $15 and I will have a bike parked ready to ride

my friend thought "hey I just have a few extra kg in my bag...they'll let it go through without any charge"

    nope

Spirit Airlines between LA and Vegas was pretty flaky too..."oh we cancelled your 12:30pm flight back to LA and can't get you back until tomorrow at 8pm"

Tai Pei airport was pretty bomb

I really like the bozeman airport

Chicago generally sucks I feel like I always end up sitting on the runway for an hour.

Jetblue is one of my favorite continental/Caribbean airlines.

Delta and United have destroyed board bags/climbing gear twice over the last year and a half..

Why would you EVER fly into Miami when Ft Lauderdale is right there.

Best: Emirates , god those flight attendant uniforms, mmm mmm mmm.
    Worst: Spirit
Best airport: Austin, Salt Lick, and the people watching is top notch.
Worst airport: The Fly Dubai terminal in Dubai. I thought I was about 3 seconds away from being in an Al Qaeda video. They had flights leaving to Baghdad and Kabul while I was there. Course, the terminal itself was nice, and the rest is my subtle racism.

    Re: Best/Worst Airline/Airport

Children, please. I lived and worked in West Africa for 3 years, and y'all need to harden the fuck up.

    This is an international airport:

This is me waiting for my flight at that international airport:

This is another airport in the hottest continually-inhabited city in Africa:

(And yes, that plane is named Timbuktu)

I've had flights abort take-offs because of sandstorms. I've had flights abort landings because of sandstorms. (Aborting landings is worse.) I've had to sit with chickens, and had motherfucking goats running up and down the aisles. I've been kicked out of airplane offices for saying.. well, let's not get into that. I've had airlines go bankrupt when I'm half-way through a trip. I've handed bricks of $50,000 USD cash to pilots, wrapped in masking tape, with the simple instruction of "Give it to the ground guy when you arrive". I've flown unpressurized tuboprops (which sucked) and Soviet-era hulking shitheap jets (which sucked even more.

But yeah, sure, Delta and ATL sucks

Nothing like flying nap of the earth in a C130 for a few hours to make you appreciate civilian airlines of all sorts.

American and Delta used to have narrow seats and short seat pitch, but after JetBlue started kicking their asses with seat pitch that didn't include having your knees jammed into the seat in front of you, they started offering "Coach Plus" or some such nonsense. I'm 6'1 with a 32" inseam so for lots of others it was even worse.

United seems to do something retarded every time I fly them. I fly JetBlue whenever possible.

This was 2009. The singer expected to get a million hits in a year. He got 4 million in a couple of days. It was so viral that the company took a stock hit of over $150 million.

    Re: Best/Worst Airline/Airport

I flew on a short lived airline from BDL to Milwaukee for the Oshkosh fly-in one year back in the 90s. I think it was called executive air but I'm not positive on the name. Stumbled onto a reasonable and competitively priced ticket by chance, with no idea the accommodations would be any different than any other airline, but they had first class style seats all the way throughout the plane, and served an excellent free breakfast on china, with free champagne. Man, that was sweet while it lasted. I recall a smoking hot flight attendant, too. Like, really smokin. Memorable since the 90s and I could provide a reasonable description for the police sketch artist if necessary smokin.

Last few years I've been traveling to Nashville for reso summit with a dobro worth more than some of my bikes, so I choose Southwest Airlines and pay the extra 15 bucks for early boarding so I can put it in an overhead compartment and not watch it be in the hammerthrow contest for the gorillas in luggage handling, like the guy in that video garandman posted.

As far as airports and luck of the draw airlines with their livestock-like passenger treatment and ridiculous seats, it's really gotten to the point that I'd rather not make flying my first choice. By the time you deal with parking, tickets, luggage, security, the cattle call at the gate and on and off the plane, then baggage retrieval and rental car bs, you waste an entire day on either end of your vacation even if you are flying somewhere that's a 1 hour flight away. The part about the claustrophobic seats and having every ass that walks down the aisle bump my shoulder if I try to sleep is just the icing on top of a shit sundae. Even the Nashville thing is barely worth it, and it's tempting to drive the 19 hours instead (which I did one of the three times I've been, and would again if I had a travel mate again)

Don't you need a climbing pass to go to camp 1? I thought anything past base camp needed a pass as if you were summitting.

    worst airline: delta
    Worst airport: JFK

Best airline: my best experiences have been Us air/aa, united, and JetBlue
Best airport: CLT. I know a lot of people hate it, but it feels like home I've flown through it so many times.
