Bestop makes a soft top that is a proper convertible setup, flip up two latches and fold the top back without removing the assembly.

I got the complicated best-top for the wife. It’s the frameless one, looks great but it’s kind of a pita. I wanted it to run a bikini setup in the summer.

I've seen a lot of them that seem to make better lawn ornaments than convertibles.

The fold down top sure makes it easy for larger flora to protrude and fill out.

If you've ever worked on one, then you'd know the frames tend to return to the earth pretty quickly. They are like Toyotas.

Is a bikini top just a soft top with no windows?

    Did someone say bikini top?

Are T Tops convertibles? There are some blasphemers on NASIOC.

That's what my Wrangler has with the factory hard top, driver and passenger roofs pop off without tools.

Yeah, just the bit over your head with no back or rear windows.

Why? Do you like a roof that leaks by the windows on your vehicles?

Owned a 86 Mustang GT with T-roofs and it had small issues with the seals now and then. (If I could find that same car again for a reasonable price I would buy it in a minute)

Does the Wrangler actually have the bar in the center when the roof sections are removed or do the roof sections overlap in the center?

No 'T' bar when you pop the front sections.

Re: Is the Wrangler a convertible?

I wouldn’t call my Wrangler (YJ) a convertible. My old soft top was like an erector set. I got good at putting it up and taking it down, but was always jealous of the flip a switch people.

And towing? Towing with a CJ5 was won of the scariest moments of my life

It will satisfy any adrenaline rush you crave.

Also, Jeeps are cool too. I've built a few from a mild leaf sprung YJ on 33's to a wild JK on 40's with double triangulated 4-links and 16" of travel. For wheeling out west, I'd highly recommend a JKU. The longer wheelbase of the 4 door, provided you have enough lift and large enough tires to mitigate breakover (3" on 37's is great) is a huge asset. Extremely stable platform. '07 and newer will get you in the door. Feel free to drop me a line at any point if you get serious about buying one, this is one deep fucking rabbit hole.
On the wrangler topic... how long do you all think the old 4.0 inline six is good for? Iím hoping mid 200s easy.

I’ve driven a YJ I6 with >250k on the clock. I think it was on its 3rd transmission. Wound up needing a transfer case soon after

I had a Cherokee with a 4.0 that had over 400k, body would no longer pass inspection, but motor was still strong, no work other than oil changes

    The poll closed on NASIOC.

    49 voted Yes.
    15 voted No.
    1 voted 2 door only
    5 voted for Fr. Sarducci

A couple people believe that T tops qualify as convertibles.

Several noted that UHaul will not rent a trailer to a Convertible.

Damn it, I knew this would happen if I bought a domestic car again... diff cover is leaking, left a stain on my driveway.

Anyone wanna help lift my RV so I can tackle it?
