Chatterbox Xbi Bluetooth Headset

Up for sale is my very lightly used Chatterbox Xbi bluetooth helmet headset.

Comes with headset, Xbi communicator, helmet mount and charger. Manual can be downloaded from Chatterbox's website via a PDF, but the pairing is extremely simple. Worked very well with my iPhone, able to listen to music and make/receive calls at the push of a button. You will need some adhesive velcro pads to mount to the inside of the helmet, the dots that came with the unit would rip apart my liner if I pulled them out. I'm just going the route of a Zumo to my Autocom, no other reason than that as to why I am selling the Xbi. This works great.

Another Xbi can be added for Rider to Passenger communication, but you will need the GMRS version if you want to do bike to bike. Day to day commuting with tunes and the occasional "Honey we need milk" phone calls are a breeze on this. Phone in a tank bag that you have access to is all that is needed. No more pulling your helmet off to make/take a call.

This setup is made primarily for modular or open face helmets, but I also used this on my Arai XD-3 with no issues. The boom and mic foam need some room in the front of the helmet. This setup can also be used in chatterbox ready helmets that the Xbi unit mounts directly into the helmet left side receptacle. You might need some sort of wiring kit for that setup, check with your dealer or Chatterbox directly.

What's the average battery charge last?

The manufacturer states 6-8 hours of use with 48 hours on standby.

Real world, I got between 5-6 hours before is died on me. Depended on how I used it, phone or iPod. BUT, that is 5-6 hours of use time. I turned it off for lunch stops, fill ups, etc, simply because I wanted to save the battery life.

I would say that it lasted about a full days worth of riding, give or take. Again based upon how I used it. Just like any phone or other internal battery toy.
