'02 Grand Cherokee Laredo

Tryin' to help my parents out. This gem is theirs, and they've decided to upgrade to new. They were planning to keep it and run it into the ground, so within the last 20,000 miles or so they've replaced/repaired: tires, breaks, typical front end shenanigans, rebuilt the tranny, power steering pump & lines, heater core assembly. Clean title, never been wrecked and all that happy bullshit...

It's got the 4.7 V8, auto with the all-time all wheel drive Quadra-Trac II transfer case that also has a 4-wheel low range. Power driver seat (cloth), A/C, factory single CD player, factory power sunroof, still have the two functioning remote lock/unlock fobs. Also has a 2" receiver with a 7-pin connector, but they've never had electric trailer brake and it's never really towed much of anything...

130,000 miles or so. Theyr'e the original owners and it's been kept in a heated garage when not in use since new. They have all the manuals and have obnoxiously kept documentation of EVERY FUCKIN' REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, RECALL, UPDGRADE...you name it...

It's not a flower, it's got typical dings & scratches a 12-year old SUV with 130,000 miles would. KBB lists for FAIR condition is $3800-4000 (don't know why that number has changed in the last coupla weeks), and I'm seeing similar sounding specimen on lots & online for silly money. They're asking $3500, but I KNOW they'd take $3000. Not sure they'd be willing to go much less than that...

Not a spot. Few scratches & dings, but nothing down to metal. If my oldest girl were younger or my youngest girl was older, I'd be grabbing this myself...

I have an 02 with the same motor and it runs very strong. Pretty much the same story, beat up exterior but a great motor and drivetrain. Tows the shit out of a two bike trailer.

None that I know of. They were pretty good about staying on top of things. I'm trying to touch base with them on a few questions people have asked. They're in Florida until Thanksgiving day...

i have an 01 with the 4.7 and i do mostly secondary highways (45-55MPH) and get about 20 MPG with some in town driving mixed in. it is a great motor and altogether it is a great vehicle. GLWS.

I get 20 on the highway and about 15 around town. Towing is a crapshoot.

Update: I was told to make sure ya'll know that the tilt steering no longer tilts. It's in kinda the middle, so my momz never bothered getting it fixed. Apparantly she was told that the entire column had to be replaced. And the upholstery on the passenger door armrest is starting to split. The armrest isn't separating from the door, just the vinyl material is splitting...

She says she gets about 18MPG. But her commute is mainly just puttering from Bedford (NH) to Manchester...

CORRECTION: the armrest that's splitting is actually on the driver's door. I have some new pics that I'll post today. Vehicle can now be seen in Bedford, NH on weekends. *PM* me for contact info. I'll be getting this up on Craig's List, etc by the weekend for them as well. They're ready to move on this...

I'm guessing at this point they may even creep below that, although not much more. I'd bet if you threw $2500 at 'em, they'd seriously consider it. Otherwise, it'll be gone by mid-week I'm sure...

It's easier to answer the inquiries here than through PM's: they've got a deal on the table that they plan on going with mid-week. They were offered $2500 for a trade, so I KNOW they'd take cash instead. We all know how the trade-in game is played.
