2008 KTM Duke 690 - Mint

Don't really want or need to sell - but would be smart to use my money elsewhere as this bike has sadly been sitting way too much over the year I've owned it.

I know late summer / fall isn't the best time to sell but I figured there might be somebody looking for one that would be able to ride it like it should be. It took me awhile to locate one and I haven't seen too many on the streets. If it doesn't sell I'll just hold onto it over the winter and probably change my mind once spring fever sets in.

Picked it up last August from the original owner - the bike is mint. Never down, abused, meticulously maintained.

KTM does it right - out of the box. This bike is an absolute blast to ride. I sold my '07 1000RR to try this thing and wasn't sure what to expect, but it's so nimble with plenty of torque, a bit of a hooligan machine.

I've only owned the bike for 1yr and it's my first KTM - but I've had 0 issues, and the original owner told me the same.

How are the vibes considering it's a thumper? How is it on the highway (same as any other naked bike, or does it feel like it wants to fling itself apart)? Relatively comfy for long distances (obviously it's not a 'wing, but I probably wouldn't want to ride a "true" motard all day long).

Vibes are no issue. I obviously feel a difference coming off a CBR on the street, but I really only notice it at idle (stop lights, etc). At speed, I don't even think about it.

Highway - I didn't even notice a difference. Feels great on the highway, has full fairings. Steady, firm, stable, etc.

More comfy then my CBR for long rides. Better body position, knees aren't as bent, not as much pressure on your arms. As with any other bike, you can get an aftermarket seat that would make long distances more comfy, but I have no real complaints.

I did quite a bit of homework before choosing to purchase this bike. I wanted something different than an inline 4 and this was the perfect mix.

There are quite a few threads on supermotojunkie and ktm forums specific to this bike and how fun it is to ride, and how it's really the perfect balance between an inline 4 and a motard.
