Someone tried that, and was protested, and were disqualified. I dont know how or why, but there was a huge long discussion and they were.

Prior to the 08 model year, they weren't sold as street legal in the US, so they weren't technically legal for PTwins. Starting in 08 they ship with a proper street title, making them valid combatants.
