    Lightbulb 2002 Honda VFR 800

    SOLD!

Up for sale is a red 2002 Honda VFR 800 (non-ABS), with ~17,000 miles on the odometer. VIN: JH2RC46182M400588. Clean MA title in hand. Bike is located in south central MA and I am willing to deliver within reason - please inquire.

    Modifications include:
    • Staintune Exhaust - looks great and sounds great, especially when VTEC kicks in
    • Heli Bars - makes a comfortable sport-tourer even more comfortable

Chain and sprockets were replaced towards the end of the 2009 riding season (w/ the help of NESR member Wishbone!) and service records are available. Bike will come with owner's manual, complete under seat tool kit, and a repair/service manual on CD-ROM.

Asking price is $3,965, an average of the KBB value of $4,225; NADA value of $3,795; and Motorcycle Consumer News value of $3,875.

Overall, bike is in great shape for an 8 year old bike. It has suffered a couple stationary tip-overs, once with it's previous owner, and once with me. I believe I'm the third owner.

To set up a viewing, ask any questions or make an offer, contact me at hqp921@gmail.com.

Visit http://vfr800.webs.com/index.htm for more information and photos.

    Thanks.

It WAS cleaner before it fell over in my driveway.

Way fun to pick up... it is a lot heavier than the SV650s I had before it...

Let me know how forwarding the ad goes! I've tried to price it as fair as possible.... I'm seeing older VFR's (granted, they are the pre-VTEC, which some people regard as "better"), on CL asking $4000+. Then again, I'm seeing bikes that should be $3500 asking for $5000+

I'd be interested in the Heli Bars if you want a set of stockers and some $$ in trade

It is a great bike... it's just not the one "for me", which is why I'm selling.

Good luck with the sale. I sold my 02 a month ago and I didn't have the pricy mods yours does. I just had the stock cans gutted and heat sheilds powdercoated. I got $4100 for it. I'd say hold out and keep you price at what you have it at.

Thanks, I recently heard a VFR w/ gutted stock cans -- sounded pretty good, actually.

We'll see what happens, but I am quasi-motivated to move it.

    Ohh!

Um... over the last week I took a look at an '04 Duc S4R (from this board), an '07 Duc S2R 800, an '03 Honda 919... and trying to line things up to look at an SV1000s. The SV is the "odd man" out in terms of naked bikes, but it's a "naked" style... sort of. And I've owned the SV650s, so I sorta "know" what I'm getting into.

Something lighter than the VFR, and more... sport than tour, I guess.

cool, Im looking that route with my next bike. I am really big fan of the first gen Z1000, but hated the 2nd gen, not sure on the new one. Like the FZ1 too.

Ended up picking up the SV1k... well, put the deposit on it last night, will pick up the next week.

Definitely the sportiest position of the four, but I think it's the right fit for me.

The S4R was really really awesome... but the dry clutch (very loud) and service intervals and cost for the 4V service turned me away. It is intended to be a "daily" rider anyway, and I think the S4R is too focused (but a very sweet bike).

The S2R 800 was great looking... but powerwise, it wasn't too different from the old SV. Honestly, the selling point for me here was that it was a Duc... but I didn't want to buy a bike because of it's brand.

The Honda 919. What a great little (well, big-ish) bike. It's a Honda, what more can you really say? Classic styling, but at the same time, I almost felt a little "safe" and I wasn't sure it'd "move" me every day.

The SV1k: I owned an SV650 and it has been one of my favorite mounts of all the bikes I've ridden (Although I borrowed a CBR600 last year to rail on a ride and that bike was nuts). So I get a similar look, slightly different feel, and a lot of power... and a sexy sounding bike.

Sooo... yeah, someone buy my VFR.

I was not... I was working, haha.

But this bike would have no problem making the 2.5 hour trek in sport tour comfort!
