    1974 BMW R75/6

Threw this on CL and FB...might as well share it here too. Selling my airhead. Awesome bike, but not for me. I'm focusing my vintage efforts on Japanese 2 strokes, and I'm going to replace this with a semi-modern ADV bike.

Awesome classic Beemer for sale. I purchased this from the son of the original owner and have nearly all service records dating back to the day it was new. The guy was meticulous. You can read all about how he added 2psi to the front tire in Des Moines on September 3rd, 1981...if you want to.

It runs and rides great. I ride it regularly. Surprisingly quick and super stable at big highway speeds. I recently rebuilt the carbs (with diaphragms) and master cylinder. Battery is newer. Tires are good. Top end was rebuilt about 4000 miles ago (IIRC). Comes with lots of parts. Inside of the tank is clean. Wiring is untouched (except for the hookup for the Vetter fairing and tail lights on the saddlebags). Original seat is in great condition (small tear on right side; had a sheepskin cover on it since new). And perhaps best of all, everything works! Turn key cafe racer with instant vintage street cred! Did a ~1200 mile ride around the northeast in the fall and the bike performed flawlessly.

    A few of the add-ons:
    - Dual plug heads
    - Saddle bags
    - Beefy side stand
    - Vetter 2 fairing (with badass stickers!)
    - Koni shocks
    - Stiffer front fork springs

Also comes with various crash bars, guards, racks, handlebars, and tons and tons of documentation and records. Also included, hilarious stories of the original owner effectively living on the bike for 30+ years well into his 70s.

Hopefully this goes without saying, but it’ll require occasional tinkering being that it’s 45 years old.

Odometer reads about 40k, but service records indicate that the odometer rolled over and this is actually 140k. The speedo also reads about ~50% fast, so the mileage is actually a little less than that (although I don't think the speedo has been acting up for very long).

The gas tank has two very small dents.

I pulled it out of winter storage a few weeks ago and did the following:
    - Adjusted the valves
    - Balanced the carbs
    - Added a 2008 Velorex 562 sidecar

Bike is running perfectly. I think the sidecar alignment needs some tweaking, but it's really close to perfect.

Asking $4500 with the sidecar, $3500 without. Won't sell the sidecar before the bike. This isn't a Covid fire sale, so don't lowball me too hard. More pictures available!

Clean title in hand. Trades considered for an ADV bike. Specifically looking for a Vstrom or a Tiger 800xc...may be open to others.

I replaced the tank badges with OEMs since taking most of these pictures (new one seen in photo w/ sidecar).

Sold! Buyer didn't want the sidecar, so if someone wants it let me know. Otherwise it's gonna get strapped onto something inappropriate.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the sidecar.
