This is my dad's bike, and I'm listing it for him.
This bike was purchased in 2017 from Kaplan Cycles at the New England Motorcycle Museum. They went through the whole bike and it ran great. It was stored in 2017 through 2018, so for 2019, the carbs were cleaned again, plugs were replaced, points replaced and gapped, and the condenser was replaced as well.
The bike has about 22K miles on it, and is in good shape. Almost all parts are original, with the exception if the front master cylinder, and I believe the rear turn signals. The oil injection system is still fully functional as well. A few small negatives include a sticky speedo, and the front tire has a dry crack in the sidewall. The tank also has a small ding in it.
This isn't a showroom condition/museum condition motorcycle but it is in good condition, which means you won't be afraid to ride it. This is a good thing because it's an absolute blast to ride. It smokes like a chimney and sounds exactly like you would expect to a 399cc air cooled parallel twin 2-cycle motorcycle to sound like. This was the very last year of the air cooled street-legal 2-stroke, and Yamaha did a hell of a job with it.
