    1984 Honda Interceptor 500

Got this from Obsolete fo'FREE, so I'm passing on the love. Going to concentrate on the V65 and I could use the space in the garage. I only ask that you either make it go and ride it, or pass it on fo'FREE to another NESR member who would want to do right by it and make it go/pass it on fo'FREE, etc etc etc.

This is a 1984 Honda Interceptor 500. V4, 7412 miles. Does NOT run. Battery is toast. Tank has a rust hole in the bottom of it, forks are bent/broke. Front wheel looks fine. From what I can tell, to get it running/riding would mean new tank, forks from Ebay (bout $100 from what I saw for decent ones), carbs cleaned and new directional stalks. Might need the brake calipers rebuilt as these tend to freeze up from sitting. Tires are in good shape, but are likely a bit dry. No dryrot cracks visible.

Needs to be gone through, but last he knew, it ran before it sat for a while. Engine looks like it's never been apart.

She is complete. Have a clean title.

I reserve the right to pick who I give it to. That being said, I heard of a couple guys in the original thread on this bike that were interested (JohnnyV?) that may be higher on the list than others due to not having any bike. So PM over the reasons why you should get this money pit or post them here. Post count/lack of douche-nozzleness will help your standings

NO BIDDING. This is FREE only. I'll decide who I see would most benefit from this. I'm an asshole already, so I don't mind breaking a few hearts. Right ladies?

$25,000 is RayRay's price. Kingcrap will have to sue me in his make believe court of law where he still actually has a law license for it.

    Got it? Simple enough....

    This should get interesting.

I really shouldn't but I've been sort of itching for a project and love Hondas. Was it stored indoors? Wondering if the paint and stickers are ok or if the tank is just the start. I can do mechanical stuff but paint isn't in my skill set. If stored indoors is the chain and such in need of serious cleaning but ok or is that all junk?

    Hondas I've owned:
    1986 Honda 450 Rebel
    1985 Honda Nighthawk 700S
    1988 Honda Hurricane 1000
    1994 Honda CBR600F2
    1997 Honda CBR1100XX

I would love this because I want to build a track bike for next year and I cannot justify using my brand new bike to race and I don't think my 1985 Goldwing Aspencade would be competitive

plus I have an awesome garage so would go to a good home

I am very interested if the other guys end up passing. If you're available I could probably pick it up Saturday. It would either end up as a bike for my girlfriend to ride, or she can ride my CBR while I ride this.

It has been repainted, which is chipping off in large chunks. She's no beauty queen. Looks like it was stored in a shed, but due to sitting, most rubber bits should be replaced.

    Re: 1984 Honda Interceptor 500

Just for reference, a bike like this will cost cool 1000 to restore to good running condition. Forks, tank, chain, tires, seals, gaskets, shock refresh. It will all crack and leak if you try riding it on the old stuff. That doesn't include cosmetics.

Sure is. I've been surprised at how many people don't have any convincing points as to why they should have it vs anyone else! Should be pretty easy....

So far this is the best reason to give it away. Surprising, all everyone says is "I want it cause I do". At least it would make a tits vintage racer.

As long as I get to take it for a couple laps once it's done!

Come get it tomorrow, I want it gone.

    ya dig?
