For sale is my project bike, a rare 1989 Honda VFR400 NC30 from Japan. It was purchased from http://www.motorecyclenow.com/ where it was in pieces. The bike came to me completely disassembled with all the nuts and bolts except the fairings.
Since then, I've been assembling and fixing the bike up. All the coolant gaskets were leaking and have been replaced. Some parts of the carb were broken, so I actually purchased a set from England and mashed both of them together to create a working carb. The motor turns, and if you place your hand over the intake, you can feel it sucking. New spark plugs were installed as well, however the spark seems weak, so there's an electrical gremlin on the bike. The lights work though! Gas petcock was leaking fuel, and Steve Aspland from Rising Sun Cycles managed to find me a new one. There are probably a few more items I've forgotten to mention. Again, this is a project bike, so don't expect to turn the key and ride without work! If you're worried about fairings, there's a company called Tyga that still makes fairings for the NC30. You can make your bike look stock or roll out like a modern MotoGP Honda RC211V!
Why am I selling such a rare awesome bike? Well, racing the Moriwaki takes up a lot of my time and effort. Motorcycles were made to be ridden, not in a garage hanging on hope.
Price is $4000, but I am also interested in trading the bike for a clean 2007-2009 Honda CRF250X and cash depending on condition, parts, and such. If you just so happen to have only clean 2007-2009 CRF250X engine, but not the rest of the bike, I am also interested in that as well. Please see photos below and feel free to ask any questions. Get started early on your winter project!
