If I had the knowledge today back when I was looking for a Hawk in the 2003 I probably would have spent the $4000. I have well over that in the bike. Cheaper way to get into racing is a well prepped bike!!!!!!


But in retrospect I have learned so much over the years building it up.

I wouldn't pay 4500 pesos for a hawk. Even if it had a full tank of gas....which doubles the value on them.

My 1st bike ever was an 89 Hawk. I bought it for 250 bucks. I put 13 dollars worth of parts (plugs, filter and a tire valve stem) into it and learned how to ride. Sold it 3 months later for 800 bucks.

I dont care if this one in CT has a lifetime supply of free lap dances, it aint worth 4500

(although the strip joints in CT are much better than here in MA)

Surprisingly they are actually going UP in value the rarer they get and sadly If he parted this one he could get MORE than his asking price.

That said there are deals to be had if you don't mind a little wrenching.

a well set up track/race bike is going to cost at least $4k - $5k regardless of what they are.
I4, 2-stroke, twins, etc i've seen all around the same price range if they're set up properly.

I am guessing 600rr front. He has a pic of him in Turn 9 at NHMS up too and I see 3 sets of leathers in the background.

Isn't this the one that was up at NHMS last week for the TTDs? I recognize the tail section, but I suppose the owner could have had more than one painted the same at one point.

With the rider who was on it last week, it was moving good. I don't know their value, but it clearly works on the track.
