41,xxx miles
down twice
needs about $1500 in work (tires, clutch, service, body is beat., etc)
No title, BUT i have the old reg (can be used in RI to register, maybe other states?)

Wow, what a response! ive gotten maybe 15 emails in the last 12 hours or so.. I tried to answer them all, but im sure I forgot a few. Also, thanks to whovr posted this on another bike site.. Ive recieved a couple emails from members over there as well..

My buddy (who some have met) bought this bike in (i believe) 2000. almost new.. he them proceeded to ride this bike as his main form of transportation for 2-3 years (high miles) He did however, take VERY good care as far a maintenace was concerned.

He got a new car and winter was coming, so I picked it up from him.. His plan was to get a hypermotard the next spring, I couldnt pass the deal up.. Since he paid the bike off in 03-04, he moved atleast 4-5 times. because of this, he never recieved the title after he paid it off. Because it wasnt a big deal to him.. he dindt really care about the title. As far as he was concerned, he would ride this thing into the ground. After I bought it from him, he attempted to get the title from the Bank (lien holder), and DMV. one of them said it was already sent years ago, etc.. He tried a couple more times, but never succeeded.

the bike is 100% legit, and because it is 10 years old, a title is NOT needed in RI to register it. i am not sure about other states.

there is a possibility that I could register it in ri, recieve a new title, then sell it.. but I would want those funds recouped on top of what I am asking. My thought is this would become a kick ass track bike for someone where a title isnt needed..

Post this up on http://nedoc.org/forums I bet you get some interest there. Also, if you can get a bill of sale from the last registrant it is pretty easy to register it in Mass with the registration and that bill of sale. Just so you know. Good Luck.

New Track fairings, tires, sprockets/chain, brake pads and steel lines up front. I also have a spare rear rim, another race tail and an alternator cover (NRC), extra switch gear and a race fairing stay.

I was going to use this to instruct at LAPS days but I'd be interested in a trade.
