This was my grandfather's car, then my mom's. It has been dealer maintained and garaged it's entire life, save for 3 years when the grandparents were at a retirement home (yes, there are some bumper scrapes from old person 5 mph driving). Zero accidents, zero non-regular-maintenance issues ever, as far as I know. When my mom owned it, she barely drove it as she preferred her Camry. Has a good set of snow tires currently in the back of the car. I do not have records of the TB being done, but there appears to be a service sticker under the hood. I can't imagine it wasn't done as my grandfather and mom were the types who would just do what the dealer said was needed. The only issue I am familiar with is the stereo / speakers, the drivers' door speaker has a mind of it's own and is on or off on it's whim. I'm guessing a loose wire behind the stereo or in the door card is to blame. Literally, that's it as far as I'm aware of. Everything works as it should, has heated seats, in-dash changer (yes I have the manuals and the code for the stereo), two remotes / keys and the valet key is kicking around I bet. Full spare and toolkit in the trunk. Thing is like a 4 year old car when cleaned up.
I'd keep this car, but my TDi does everything I need and more and would love to give the folks renting the house half the garage back before they get too much snow.
And therein lies the rub... it's at my mom's house in NH which is now rented (car's in the garage), I'm heading up on Monday to get the battery on a tender and if time allows, bring it in for an oil change. More than anything else I'd just like a quick and smooth transaction.
I have not researched book values, but talked to Hobbs and he said to ask $5k as clean, low-mile non-turbo Volvo wagons are well, just solid cars (before 2000 that is). I've owned an 850 and can attest that when taken care of, these things just pound out miles. Anyway, I'd like $4500 from a NESRian, toss a hitch on this thing and it'd make a track day transport beast (seats in the back fold perfectly flat and I think you could fit a small air mattress in it too).
Sorry for the crappy pics, I only stopped in quick to grab some mail. Link to album.
