I have to sell my 2000 BMW 540i Sport... it's listed in the classifieds here and on craigslist: 2000 BMW 540i Sport, Premium, M Pkg, Must See, Below Book Value!!!
The car is fully loaded and has received a lot of recent upgrades / preventative maintenance which has included a new radiator, new water pump, new suspension (Bilstein Sports), new front end bushings (Polyurethane), a new e46 M3 shift linkage (shorter throw), the Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) delete was done, and brand new Bridgestone Pole Position Tires.... all work performed in the last 2 months (over $3000) and I have full documentation to back it up. I was trying to address any and all known issues with the e39 before they became issues with my car, and I think I did quite a good job of sorting it out. The ride, shifting, road holding and even fuel economy (I get 27-29 mpg highway) are much improved and quite impressive.
I also have a hitch installed on the car (taken off for pics) which I used to tow my very small single bike trailer. I can leave this on for NESR members if you desire or remove it prior to sale.
Please pass the word, I need this car to go to a new home so I can get a cheap beater for the city and hopefully resume my racing in the near future.
I have absolutely *no* desire to sell this car aside from financial reasons. My (big) loss is very much the new owner's gain. I have researched KBB, NADA, and the more accurate and far lower edmunds.com "true market value" and the latter of which is where my asking price stands. I am already losing out on this car so at the moment my asking price is firm. That said, an interested buyer will not be disappointed. There are two fairly significant cosmetic blemishes on the bumpers (one front, one rear) as a result of parking in / around Boston... if you're looking for a garage queen this isn't your car. If you've always wanted a 540i however, you won't find one more mechanically solid than this one.
