    *SOLD*

    2001 Kawasaki ZRX1200R

    From NESR, back to NESR.

I love riding this bike, but ... change happens.

    34,xxx miles (and going up)

MA title in my name in hand.

    $4400 with Ohlins
    or
    $3400 with original shocks.

Clayton really had it dialed in, runs good and strong, always starts immediately, everything works as it should, even better,
no leaks of any kind, sounds great.

As advertised by the PO in 2020:
Owned since 2004 ... not perfect cosmetically, but mechanically solid.
Full Muzzy system, recently repacked. Ivan’s 3.0 jet kit, pods, battery up and out kit, GMD Computrack built RaceTech suspension 2k miles ago (spring/valved both front and back).
Braided SS front/rear/clutch lines, bew EBC HH pads in front, Galfer Black in back. Recent steering head bearings.
Freshly rebuilt calipers up front with all new seals. Comes with stock exhaust/airbox, stock front headlight/mini fairing, stock springs.
These are torquey engines that can be ridden at 3500rpm all day, but still pull hard up top. Freshly rebuilt carbs with all new gaskets/o-rings/needle valves.
Issues: Been down a long time ago (16 years ago actually). Front fender was cracked but fixed with epoxy. Works fine.
Steering lock on one side got bent. Little steel tab. I've ridden it as is without issue for 23k miles. Fix it, or leave it.

    What I've done 2021-2022:

    Tires (RS3)
Battery -- "BIG CRANK" AGM (Made in USA)
    NGK CR9EK
    Ohlins
    RM Stator Voltage Regulator
    Compton alternator chain tensioner fix
    Factory Pro extended mixture screws
Rebuild clutch slave cylinder w OEM parts
    New front sprocket OEM
    Synch carbs w Morgan CarbTune
    Renthal Superbike handle bar
Hella Twin SuperTone Horns wired with fused relay
    Oil and filter changed twice
Unifilter pods cleaned and oiled twice
LEDs in headlight, taillight, turn signals, and dash
    Laminar Lip
... some other items and adjustments ...
Garaged, battery tender, chain serviced often, STA-BIL 360 Marine, original tool kit, owners handbook, two keys, receipts, etc. ... all the usual ...

It cleaned up pretty good. I don't mind the dinged tank or other minor cosmetic issues. I run a tank bag so I don't notice the scratches. And I like not worrying about a pretty bike.
There are prettier ones out there if pretty's what you want.

I've put 3500 miles on it, all-day comfortable for me. All good, ready to ride.

In Arlington MA 02474, with easy access from MA Route 2 or Mass. Ave.

Listing here first. If I really decide to sell it, I'll post it to CL and FB, after removing the Ohlins to sell separately.

    I LITERALLY just bought a 1999 zx9r on Saturday.

    ZRXs were always an option.

I’ve seen these on cycle trader for as much as 8 grand.

I bet this is fun as hell.

Clayton, you did the carbs yourself?

    The very definition of fun.

And that's using only a tiny fraction of the power.

Yes, minty examples are advertised at $6~8K depending on 1100 or 1200, mileage, updates, and upgrades.

    *BUMP*

Anyone interested? Pretty soon I think I'll start pulling off pieces to sell separately, starting with the Ohlins.

Man these are awesome bikes. Sleeper for sure. I bet the ohlins fixed the wallowing in corners too. That was my only complaint. Big girl can hustle!

Yes, thanks, amazing power, and just feels good. I don't push it too hard, so I wouldn't know about any handling deficits, if there are any. For some reason, however, a year and a half ago, I wanted the Ohlins and sent Peter Kates $1,360.13 -- street cred, I guess. The stock suspension has GMD upgrades, spring/valved both front and back, per the P.O.

The bike is so reliable, starts instantly, cold or hot, throttle response and idle perfect, no leaks of any kind anywhere, electrics and lighting work fine, love the all-LED lighting. Someone will love owning and riding this bike. All good, title in hand, ready to ride [smilee] and, oh yeah, sounds great.

Now that I have entered advanced old age, I'm ready to pass the bike back to one of you younger fellers.

And, Christian, you know the way here, so why not bring a trailer (and cash)?

I never had any wallowing in corners once I had the suspension GMD'd. Spring/valved both front and back. Front could use more rebound dampening though.
