Potential concern
- There is no tachometer, it broke off about 8 years ago.
- One of the engine mounts is slightly cracked, but the bolt still tightens and it has ran without issue for several race weekends.
- Rear subframe is not straight and the rear seat does not latch.
- Bodywork is 3/10, tank is dented but holds fuel fine
- Water was left in engine over winter in an unheated garage, the engine will come up to temperature, the fan kicks on and it cools back down as it usually does. There does not appear to be any mixing between water and engine oil. I think it's OK but it's hard to guarantee. UPDATE - I can offer a 60 day partial refund if the engine turns out to be damaged due to water freezing. It would bring the effective purchase price down to $1500 ($500 back). You'd just have to document the damage via pictures UPDATE 2, this will be a $300 refund now that the price is lowered, CA April 18
- The engine burns about 1quart of oil for every 500 miles on the track. It still makes good power and in the past has run ~12.4s @ 106mph 1/4 mile times (with a 190lb rider)
- A cracked weld near the rear of the frame was repaired in 2008 by a professional weldor, it has not had any further issue.
General notes
The bike has done about a dozen track days and one season of racing in the Loudon road racing series. It's also been cross country and generally enjoyed. Although it has a few scrapes, this bike has never let me down.
