Shucks, nice deal for the buyer!
Don’t worry, there might be another sweet 2nd gen clear title track and street SV listed for sale in the spring...
At the end of the day it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be to step away. We're putting a lot of resources towards raising our son and renovating an old house on a property we really like. Honestly even if money was no object I doubt I'd have the time required to compete in a full season. I keep telling myself I'll be able to come back "next year," but in all reality I'll probably be eligible for F40 before I can make it back. That's OK with me too.
I get my grins these days on my dirt bike. When the days are long I can sneak out for a session after work, and it's usually no bother for me to get a half day on the weekends for a bit of a longer session. I am currently looking for a track bike I can go do some track days on, but I'm in no rush. It's actually kind of fun looking for a bike because I think it's cool and would be fun to ride instead of just evaluating it based on how competitive it would be in the classes I want to compete in.
^^^ Mostly the same boat. 1 year out and I basically do not miss competing @ LRRS at all. (Not that I was terribly competitive to start.) Priorities are a funny, fickle thing.
Even considering bailing on NEMM/Boxshop sumo series next year as well.
Ideally I'd even like to squelch a lot of the dirt riding in favor of more pedal bike time. It'd be easier for me to share that with the family and better for my overall health. Plus much easier to practice locally, given how anti motorcycle the world is becoming these days.
Props to you guys. I had to convince myself I don’t miss it.
Truth is I loved every damn second of it. That’s why it’s easy to not go back or have a bike. I try to stay “sober”

I think the message here is that the DTs subside and the temptation diminishes..
..I still occasionally hang off the inside when cornering a shopping cart and almost always use the screwdriver grip though.
I know what I'm like if I'm not competing in some fashion or another.
No one wants to see that.
Couch, cough, that’s why I participate in something physically challenging, accessible, and did I mention cheap (especially by comparison).
Oh, and there’s only 7-8 events per calendar year, and you’re obligated to work one and have one throw away.
Low key, but there’s always an event ahead.
