F.I. is about the only thing that motor has over what was in it...

What was in it needed a rebuild with custom pistons (since they don't make em any more (according to Bruce Meyers) that would have cost more than what I got the FI motor for.

No, it didn't need a rebuild... it was strong as hell and Hobbs opened it up and everything looked freshy fresh! I told you I had no idea but it's always good to take a look and see... man, where IS that :doc sucks: emoticon when you really need it....

But all things being equal, I'd probably take the F.I. motor simply for the lack of associated BS....

When did Hobbs do this? I rode it for 1/2 a season and brought the motor to Bruce who said it needed new pistons.

No worries brother, I don't think I got screwed or anything. I loved that bike! (But I am faster on the Hawk)

Bruce uses hi comp single ring slipper pistons in his race builds. They have very short skirts and, duh, a single ring. This means that they much lighter but have a very short life before they will start rocking in the bore a little, which leads quickly to failure. 1-2 seasons af racing depending on how much time you put in.

Interesting, you'll have to share some time, I had been planning on using Arais for a couple mini projects in the past, given that they'd do single and two piston full custom runs, I'm curious what you've seen now.
