Mechanic-owned 2006 V-Strom with zero mechanical issues. Clean title in hand. This bike averages 49 mpg, but this may vary depending on whether you ride it like a sport bike or a tourer. It's equally happy doing both. Bike just hit 30,000 miles. Brand new Avon Distanzia tires last week, and will include service records for last 20,000 miles (my ownership). Valves recently checked and adjusted. This is the most all-around capable bike I have ever ridden. It needs nothing - only a rider.

Extras -
Lights:
-Extremely bright Denali LED axillary lights from Twisted Throttle on matching bracket - these seem to double the output of the stock lights, which are already amazing. Extra lead for an additional light and wide-angle lenses included.
-PIAA Extreme White bulbs in headlights
-Easter Beaver headlight relays, which prevent burned-out handlebar switch and increase light output.

In sum, this set-up throws more light down the road than any vehicle I have ever ridden or driven.

Front suspension:
-Sonic Springs (.80kg/mm, IIRC)
-Race Tech Gold Valve Emulators
-Fork brace

Brakes:
-Upgraded four-piston GSX-R front brake calipers, mounted on brackets from SV Racing Parts, plus spare organic pads from Braking

Protection:
-SW Motech skid plate
-SW Motech crash bars
-Radiator guard

Electrical:

-Escort 3500 Radar detector included (!)

-Heated grips
-Two power sockets on dash (One BMW, one cig. style)
-Extra-bright front turn signals
-Voltage meter (colored LED on dash)
-Axillary Eastern Beaver fuse box so all accessories except one power socket turn off with ignition key

Other:
-Center Stand
-Bar risers - not necessary for normal riding comfort, but makes standing up for gravel roads more comfortable
-Handguards
-Pat Walsh dash tray for radar detector
-Madstad adjustable windshield bracket
-Oversize touring windshield (trimmed down as it was actually TOO large)
-Side and top case Givi luggage racks
-Givi top case and medium size side cases included
-K&N airfilter
-Spare levers for clutch and brake, which I keep tucked under seat in case of crash damage
-Spikey foot pegs which are wider for greater comfort when standing, and riding in wet or muddy conditions, as well as OEM rubber-padded pegs

The bike has been ridden in the real world. The majority of its 30k miles have been incurred on three long trips. The prior owner rode it 7000 miles across Canada and back, and I have taken it down to the Carolinas on two 4000-mile trips. It was the perfect bike for this trip, BTW. Sporty and flickable in the twisties, while carrying everything for camping. It is clean and presentable, but naturally does not look showroom new. It has had a few tip-overs in driveways, and was once dropped at roughly 2 mph when coming to a stop in a poorly-plowed parking lot. Crash bars worked perfectly and saved bike from any body damage. This bike has never been crashed or abused, has no mechanical issues, and has never left me stranded or let me down in any way, ever.

Asking $4800.

Don't need to sell, just have a hankerin' for something new. Would consider trades for /6 or later BMW airhead or oilhead BMW, mid-weight sport or sport-touring bike like SV650, or sport-tourer such as a VFR800. Not looking for off-road bikes or dual sports, thanks.

Please call with questions (802-233-three six six two), or e-mail (palankearney at yahoo). Both are better than a PM. Please include your phone number if you email. Happy to help with a fly-n-ride (BTV), bike swap to feel out a trade, etc. Just ask.

Thanks for looking!
