    2005 Yamaha YZ 250

Bought new a couple of months ago.
Less than 6 hours on it.

Has a small ding in the exhaust expansion chamber, otherwise like new.

    $5000 or best offer.

I have a bunch more (bigger) photos if anyone wants to view them.

    derek

Is this too expensive? opinions wanted. Ignore the "don't mess with sales" rule.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me, but you'll probably have better luck on a more dirt-oriented forum.

Dont sell it, come up to VT and ride with your old pal highsider this summer.

A shiny, new leftover '06 can be had for $5400, if that's any help. I've got an '06 -- it rules.

Better off riding it for a season, get some grins and some bruises from it, and sell it for 3000$.

The two-stroke YZ's dont seem to have a huge resale value. I picked my first one up for 250$, and my second one up for 1,000$. Rode them both for entire seasons, and then blew 'em up.

They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Do you think it would sell for $4500?

As was mentioned, the ring-dingers are not so in demand. Better for woods, but more mx riders prefer thumpers. Also, an '05 is no longer eligible for Yamaha contingency monies. And I won't even mention the new fork. New bikes are going for cheap, but $4500 may get some interest if the bike is minty mint.

Do you own this bike? If so, why the fuck don't you come riding with us sometimes

Having bought many new dirtbikes and sold them as very clean used dirtbikes less than a year later..I can tell you first hand that the resale of used offroad only dirtbikes sucks!!! While I'm sure it's worth $4,500, I think it's going to be hard to get $3,000-$3,500 for it. I've seen 2006 mx bikes (250 2-smokes and 450 4-strokes) in the $3,500-4k price range.

Just for an example, I sold my 2004 YZ450 in mint condition with $2k worth of Motard crap for $4k...and this was after sitting on it for 3 or 4 months of people beeting me up on the price (brent) haha

Give me that YZ and 11K cash and you can have the R7

That sounds like the best deal you're likely to get.

A different set of bars (i.e., oversized Pro Tapers) may help you with that? Or, maybe you'd prefer rubber mounts...
