    2006 Ducati 749s - Race/Track

Up for sale is my 2006 Ducati 749s. Have title in hand. Approx. 15K miles

    Has:

    848 swing arm conversion
Brand new bodywork painted (never used)
2 sets of wheels w/ rotors (second set had new rains)
    Speedymoto adjustable bars
    Woodcraft rearsets
    Ducabike slipper clutch
    Annatori quick shifter
    Full race termignoni system
    Ohlins TTX rear
    Bitubo internals in front forks
    PCV with tune

Have second set of rashed amor bodies bodywork that will go with bike.
    Comes with stands.

I just put a ton of money into it for the bodywork, belts, new clutch plates and a bunch of other stuff. All work done at seacoast sport cycle.

I am sure I am forgetting a bunch of stuff, but this is a really nice bike.

Asking $5,000 VERY FIRM. It is not worth it for me to sell for a penny less.

    Located in Framingham, Mass.

What's the logic behind the swingarm conversion?

    GLWS, she looks beautiful.

That's a lot of bike for $5k. ditto on the swingarm conversion. Also, I noticed it doesn't have radial mount calipers. Is the front end from a 2003/4?

Single sided would be the main reason I would think!

The 749 didn’t get radically mounted calipers, only the 999 and 749R

A lot of people think this body style was ugly? I personally think its one very sexy design.. and the 848 arm makes it look even better! Cool bike!

I think the majority of the people that think this body style was ugly was cuz of the vertical headlights.

For me, it looks WAYYYYY fuckin better in race trim.

It's a cool design. Pierre Terblanche took a LOT of criticism for his edgy designs, but he was a great designer and is responsible for some all time classics along with some flops. But no guts, no glory!

I got to see him speak at Lars Andersen about the design process at Ducati. His bikes were essentially sculptures that had to package whatever Ducati gave him. After some pencil and paper sketching, he would go to his studio by himself and spend 3-4 weeks uninterrupted working in clay and wire and come out the other end with a very close to production ready design. I don't think you will find too many automotive companies working in this way. So cool.

His former boss had a slightly different idea of Pierre's process, timeline, and production-readiness..

How many 17 year old designs wouldn’t look out of place in a showroom today? The 999 was ahead of its time and is now current? 2006 Ducati 749s - Race/Track

Once you get rid of the stupid plastic thing on the windshield, they look great.
