It looks great. I've been tossing around the idea of getting one. How do you feel about the Smg vs. 6 speed? Do you normally drive a standard?

Interesting you bring this up. I did a ton of research before buying and drove both. I prefer the smg for many reason.
SMG clutch last most of the time the life of the car.
SMG shifts so fast and hard in sport mode DSG it hurts/Faster and more accurate than I could shift the standard. I always had standard too so its not that I was a rookie.
The paddle shift is the real deal!
If you want to drink a coffee and stroll you can do that too. :-)
However.....the automatic is not your typical, it has throttle blip automatically to match revs and you can also manipulate revs. Very cool.

I had a laguna blue 02 with SMG, whoever picks this up will not be disappointed they are great cars.

I used to drive a 2003.5 SMG, which is basically the same car. IMHO, what makes the M3 so special is the way the suspension works on real world streets with pavement irregularities. I've driven much faster cars that smoke the M3 on paper, but when it comes to real roads others often fall short. The suspension can feel a little harsh at low speeds, but when you bring up the pace it only gets better.

The SMG is a blast. I only used the launch control a couple times, but it was cool, although it is probably kind of rough on the clutch because it sort of feathers or pulsates the clutch for traction kind of like you would if you were doing a race start on a bike. I'd definitely choose to get the SMG, but I'll probably never again have a car like this now that the bike / track addition has kicked in.

You have me wicked tempted. I have to sell my 325i before I get another car. The wifey says only 2 cars at a time. Luckily it's not the same rule for bikes. What mileage do you get with it commuting?

It reads overall 20 per gallon on the dash. Truthfully I drive like 6 miles round trip per day so I don't really even pay attention. It seems like it does ok overall.

I have never used the launch control, I baby this thing.

    2002, dark grey, removable hardtop.

You can get anywhere from 15-25 MPG, depending on how spirited your commute is.
