2008 Buell XB12Ss

***SOLD***2008 Buell XB12Ss (long), Valencia Orange, has about 9100 miles on it and is excellent condition. Always maintained with Mobile 1 synthetics and filters. Extras and upgrades include:

-Drummer Exhaust
-EBR 6mm rotor and EBC Gold pads
-STT seat
-Sunline motocross bars (wider and straighter than stock)
-Billet levers
-fairly recent Mich. Pilot Powers

I also have all the stock parts: all of the belt guards and lower fender, pass pegs, stock bars and stock seat.

Looking for $6500, Id love to trade for a 500-650cc dual sport/supermoto (KTM, Husky, BMW X-challenge) or older KTM 950 but I owe a little money on it still so I dont have the title in hand for a straight up trade. Might be able to swing something though if the right deal popped up.

what is the maintenance history, not just when oil changes or whatnot, but also if there were any issues. I am ok with some things, part of this is researching bikes to replace my busted bike with, and yours is top on a short list, so info on what you know to be problems or whatnot would be very helpful. I know this may beget a WTF sorta answer, but realize that I know ALL bikes have some issues, and knowing them ahead of time would increase my trust in a sale rather than decrease it. well, I guess unless it was something like "engine blew up, used duct tape and zip ties to fix".

Nothing to Hide here. It has been virtually trouble free. Aside from the regular oil and filter changes, brake pads and tires the only maint. it has needed was a repack of the Drummer exhaust.

Ive tightened a few nuts and bolts here and there, but nothing alarming. Rear cyl valve cover looks like it weeped a little oil, but nothing since I tightened the bolts for it.

As a order bueller, the only issue I ever had was a leaky rear rocker box. And I pit some pretty hard miles on that thing.
The only real "problem" with those bikes is the routing of the wiring harness under the seat. It sorta lends itself to chafing. So before there's any issues I'd wrap it healthily in tape. From there: just ride it. I bet it sounds lovely with the drummer.

I don't know if this helps at all, but: the XB series, especially from 2008 and up, were way superiour to previous Buells. I flogged the fuck out of my older tube framed Buell for years without any major issue, and having spoken with Henry Duga at Buell Racing many times, I would have done myself a great favor by getting one of the later generation XB Buells. The 2008 and up has components that were tested with the 2006 XBRR race bike and then went into production. Throw a ZTL2 caliper on this bike and you will have an insanely capible ride that is very easy to maintain. 3 way adjustible front and rear Showa suspension. 54" wheelbase which makes it both comfortable (the 52" Buells were a bit tight), but still very nimble.

Thanks for the notes, This bike has been flawless and super fun. I should be doing track days with it instead of getting rid of it. In fact, Im sure Im making a mistake by letting it go, but the budget only allows for one bike in my garage these days, and I really miss having a dual sport/supermoto.
