SOLD! I’ll miss it
I think I’m finally ready for a change from my beloved Tiger. It’s a really great and versatile bike, but I came into a little unexpected money recently and think I will either buy a new Scrambler 1200 or possibly two older bikes... in any case, I am already at maximum garage capacity, so some of the older bikes will have to go.
Bike has 26406 miles, runs well. It has not been ridden much recently, just around the block every once in a while to keep things moving. Has a brand new Motobatt battery and has been on the tender since I installed it. Has pretty fresh brake pads (didn’t ride much after I installed them), forks rebuilt recently with stock parts, tires are Michelin PR4’s front is maybe 50%-60%, rear is very low mileage. Could use a new chain, but its not urgent. There are a few light scratches on the tank from the tank bag, see pic.
This bike is super fun, a nice, upright, sporty ride with the bags off. Put the bags on and its great for touring. Handles two-up great, my wife and I did our honeymoon on it before she got her moto license. It has a ton of add ons:
-GSG frame sliders and engine guards
-Wired TomTom Rider GPS
-Triumph panniers (they have some scuffs from being dropped in the garage or driveway, if you care about it enough you can get replacement infill panels)
-Triumph Arrow off-road exhaust w/ Triumph Arrow off-road tune
-SW-Motech rear rack with Givi monokey adapter
-Givi Maxia trunk (I think 52 liter?)
-Triumph magnetic tank bag
-Triumph pannier rack
-Triumph panniers
-Kaoko throttle lock cruise control
-Triumph hand guards
-Triumph heated grips
-Triumph accessory power port
-Triumph aluminum brake reservoir
-Triumph center stand
-Kickstand foot extender
-aftermarket preload adjuster knob
-never installed radiator guard
-aftermarket levers
-Battery tender wired
I have the stock exhaust as well as a set of headers that have been de-catted and a ported/polished throttle body that have never been installed. I also have a complete spare headlight assembly if you want to do an HID upgrade without destroying the stock unit. I probably have some other extra stuff around, stock levers, etc. I also have the stock grab rail if you want to take the pannier rack off, as well as a compatible Givi monokey trunk rack.
$4500. I’d be up to trade straight up for a first gen 1050 Speed Triple or a Hinkley air cooled Bonneville/Scrambler/Thruxton, or Maybe a Thunderbird 900. I’d trade plus cash for a KTM 1190, Multistrada 1200, T120, Scrambler 1200, Speed Twin, R1200GS, R Nine T, Indian FTR, Superduke/GT, Duke 690, Monster 1200, maybe other stuff in the same vein, let me know what you’ve got. I’m mostly into European bikes, but you never know. Not interested in anything over 3 cylinders unless its a V4.

Bump, I’m very interested in trades (bikes only) with cash going in either direction, let me know what you’ve got. I’ve also got an ‘01 KTM 640 Enduro that needs a little work and that I’ll never get to and my wife wants to sell her ‘98 F650 Funduro, if you’re interested in a package deal.

If you have any more info on the 640 Id be interested
Hi, sorry didn’t see this earlier. The 640: I bought it in 2018 and while I was riding it home it overheated. I discovered the fan wasn’t kicking on and eventually figured out that the fan does work so the problem is either the switch or a wiring issue. Then my wife got pregnant and I haven’t touched it since, so the fan is still a problem, it’ll probably need work on the carb having sat for so long, and a new battery. The plastics are pretty rough, but I have a bunch of extra ones and a bunch of extra parts. It has one of the larger KTM tanks on it, a comfort seat, a KTM tank bag, an aftermarket exhaust which sounds good. I just don’t have time or inclination to deal with it anymore. It should run fine once the fan and carb are taken care of. It’s buried in the garage right now, but I believe the bike only has ~6k miles. If you’re interested I’ll pull it out today, take pics and find exact info. I was thinking of offering it for $1000 obo for the bike and all the spare parts as is. Oh, it also has a Happy Trails rack and aluminum panniers and an extra set of wheels with full knobbies on them. The rack is not currently on the bike. I think I also have a rotopax mount and some other stuff.

The KTM still available? Any pics of it for condition before it went into hibernation?

It is available, I’ll be pulling it and all the accessories and spares I can find out of the garage tomorrow to take pics. Let me find some pics from when I first brought it home. Most likely I’ll make a for sale post over the weekend

I can swing by this weekend if you’re schedule is open. I’m rather local
I think I will be around, I was thinking of swinging up to a Triumph dealership, but that’s more likely going to be next weekend.
