Bought this back while I was deciding what street bike I wanted to go with. Since the purchase I've had a kid, and finally bought a new cruiser. I'd like to sell this to allow for space for a proper dirt only toy. The bike has super low mileage (yet to hit its 500 mi. recommended service), bought brand new in early 2014 as a leftover, has been babied by a very timid, slow off road newbie. Had a new battery installed April 2017 with battery tender leads. I completely understand farkles don't always add to the value, but I'll list them anyway. Living right up the road from HVD, the bike has been made more into an off road machine, with lots of the upgrades being less than 50 miles old. New Kenda Trakmasters, larger rear sprocket, Flatland Racing skid plate and radiator guard, Sandman case guard, DRC tail tidy with led turn signals front and rear (shorter stems and more flexible), Scaggs wide rack, Acerbis XC handguards, Doubletake mirror with Ram mount, Factory FX crossbar pad, Parabellum headlight protection, and tugger straps front and rear. I also have the stock rear sprocket, tires, and other original parts, paperwork, keys, etc. Asking $5500. Besides some small scuffs (which are mainly on the hand guards) this bike is like new. Bank still has lien until paid off.

Nice weather bump.
Am I way out there on the price? I've seen more beat ones with much higher mileage go for similar prices. Am I selling at the wrong time? Any suggestions?
Not on here, I bet. No idea what proper pricing is for that bike, but it's somewhat unicornish on a street riding site. I'd suggest craigslist, cycle trader and especially advrider for that bike. They'll be drooling for it on advrider, at a fair price. When you sell bikes with super low mileage, you start to lose sales to folks who want the bike but "need" financing to make it happen...and the dealers are pretty good at making that oh so easy.
All excellent points, thank you. I heard they're no longer going to be making them, so that's kind of making me think I should keep it, because it is a fun bike. Its been up on adv as well, but with no interest.
Nesr sucks for selling bikes. Too informed crowd wanting low ball deal.
I also recommend listing on local dirty facebook groups

Combo of things. First, it's a nicely setup excellent dual sport so you may want to keep it. Second, my friend bought a similarly setup bike a couple of months ago for $4200 (that was a very good deal), so I think the price is a little high. I don't think you are too far off. If you list it on CL for 4999 you may get some buyers. I think it is getting harder to sell bikes as a lot of people who wanted to buy a bike this season already did so. Knowing the price of the bike and how you set it up - the cost will never be recouped so if you are on the fence always better to keep it.

Also, generally speaking, if an item is listed for sale in an area where it is likely to have buyers and it doesn't sell, there is typically only one reason: it is priced too high. I believe your WR is absolutely worth $5,500, it's just that what something is worth and what people are willing to pay are two different things.
I went to MMI I know what Im doing here chief
Been checking into the rumors and supposedly it's not being offered for 2018 to update with a charcoal canister to neet new emissions standards. Shaky translation from:
WR250R/X
Another site mentions Suzuki now only sells the DRZ in Australia and US, so maybe that's the fate. Interesting considering the TW200 has been sold almost without change since the 80's.
On Advrider Flea Market be sure to list the state in the ad title. That's where I bought mine.
Listed my SV650S here for a long time: sold on CL for the asking price in a weekend.
This bike is really well equipped, perhaps peeling off easily removed extras and dropping the asking price will pay. Hand guards, skid plate, and a radiator guard will cost you hundreds but seems to make it harder to sell.
When I sold my VStrom, stripped off the Aftermarket shock, panniers, etc: the BNO bought all that stuff separately. Ditto when I bought the 1975 R90/6: it was listed without bags but with racks, and we negotiated a package price.
