Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
Good luck; it'll go. Everyone wants one but nobody wants one. I had a 2016 in silver (also an 1190 adventure ;-)); never had more trouble selling a bike than that AT. The 1190 brought lots of buyers from all over NE.

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
It's crazy; at this price you'd think people would be all over it. Less than the cost of a V-Strom 650 but SO much more capable!
Granted, NESR isn't the most likely forum for an ADV bike, but it's not getting much interest on ADVrider either.

YOu should do it! This could easily replace a street hawk or 2.

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
I had no offers on my Speed Triple. Nothing, not even a "low ball" Closed the thread. It's not costing me anything to sit in the garage. I don't need the money.
You'd probably have to lower the price to $8k before any offers, just sayin. So hang on to it til next spring. I know you not hurting for storage space thats for sure! :D
I do hope its goes soon.

Another selling idea, join New England Riders Sell & Buy FB page and list it there:
NER - Sell & Buy Motorcycle Classified Public Group | Facebook
Maybe join their main page, too, lots of ADV and dual sport posts:

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
I ended up selling my VFR1200x through rumbleon.com
I didn't get as much as a private sale would have netted but it was really quick and hassle free.

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
Passed an AT the other day on the highway. It had a pipe and sounded exactly like... a Harley!? Kerry noted that it was like a tv show where they get the wrong sound clip for the motorcycle. Odd.
Still, someone should buy this and do the TAT.

Strange indeed. I really like the sound of the AT motor, especially opened up some.

It does sound Harleyesque as it drives by
-
Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
I can't say I've noticed that from them driving by, but I don't really pay attention to that.
I have ridden in groups with three different ATs for thousands of miles and they have never once reminded me of a Harley.
I would have given the riders a ration of shit if that thought popped into my head :D

LOL. well, it was the first thing both Kerry and I thought as one passed by. We are pretty in tune with bikes. It surprised us both. No idea what pipe it was.

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
I wanna say it's the firing sequence. More staccato than other twins that have a more natural balance.

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
Harleys are cool and sound great. Except for sportsters

Re: 2016 Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin
My farts sound harleyesque.

I hear that when the bike is sitting, but as it drove by, nothing. Not like a piped VRF by any stretch.
