    WANTED I-4 POS track bike

Kinda testing the water here. I may be looking for a track only bike. Some POS I-4 will do the trick. I would obvioulsy prefer a GSX-R. Since I'm a Suzuki dealer, the parts for GSX-Rs come cheap.

When I say I'm looking for a POS, I mean it. I don't care if it's crashed, salvage, whatever. I want to get away a cheap as possible for a bike that will NEVER see the street. No immediate plans to go racing. I'm just looking for something that I don't particularly care about crashing at trackdays. I'm going to sell my 06 750 because my wife doesn't really ride it and it's too nice for dedicated track duty. My 1000 is just plain too much bike to be fun up at Loudon.

I'm basically looking for suggestions or if anyone has seen anything on the cheap. I'm looking to stay under $3000.

While having ratty bodywork is OK... keep in mind that if you show up with a bike that is crappy mechanically, you may not pass tech.

You will ride a track bike harder than a street bike and that demands that everything is in tip-top shape.

Totally understood. You know me better than that. My shit is always top knotch.

I don't care what it looks like (because it will get fresh race bodywork). I don't care about forks or shocks because that stuff will immediately get refreshed. I'm basically looking for a bit of a project. GSX-R would be prefered since the parts come right through my back door.

Well, I meet half of your requirements. My bike is 100% tip top. Bodywork is all in primer form. Suspension is virtually new (Front and Back). Bike has all your standard bolt on upgrades. See my link below... Problem of course is, I can't let it go anywhere near where you are. Make me a "reasonable" offer on the "bike only" and I may let it fly.

My bike came from Hobbs as a bank repo, clean and clear title. Only now I have a small fortune into it!

Re: WANTED I-4 POS track bike

How quickly are you looking to pick something up?

I am planning to move to CA some time around Aug - and may be selling my track bike for $3k around July/late June if I decide that I can't take it with me.

It's an '01 R6 and is actually pretty loaded. Ohlins shock, revalved forks, Scotts damper, comes with extra rims w/ brand new rains, stands, and enough spare parts to build have a bike from.

I plan to play with it once or twice this season.... if you're gonna be doing the motomarket track day on June 6th, you could see it in person there.

PS, if you're looking to sell an '06 gix 750 and still have it when I am trying to sell my track bike - I'd also consider doing a trade + cash transaction. I've been wanting to get an '06/'07 gix 750 for my street ride for a while now...

In fact, now that I think about it, I may want to do that as early as mid June... What color is it? Miles/mods?

Unfortunately, that is probably one of the only bikes that I don't want. I am very uncomfortable on the R1 and R6. The bike just doesn't feel right to me.

    ...and that won't work either.

Good for me... Bad for you...

    The 750 sold last night.

Re: WANTED I-4 POS track bike

    I have a friend who bought an earlier kawasaki 600. i think it's a 97 or so?
He bought it with intentions to stunt... Never finished putting it all together though.
Bike has great compression, we cleaned up the carbs, but it doesn't like to run, other than 3000 rpm idle

The bike was wheelied into a curb in spring of 06, and My buddy bought the bike off of him.

So if u are good with carbs, go for it. He paid 500$ and would like his $ back, because he put new front forks on it, and coil packs, and a couple other little things like that. He has tons of extra parts for it. I can get pictures and all that jazz if you're interested.
