i still have a running 96 bandit 600 i'm trying to swap for something more sporty.

don't worry about the mechanical mess you made of that poor TLR...i have access to the facilities and tools to have her tip top in no time.

Thanks for the offer, a bandit 600 is not really what I want.
Also I did not make the "mechanical mess" you are referring to.

I have an '00 Yamaha WR400F with a street plate and title, GMD Boston suspension, all the good extras (Moose seat, Acerbis handguards, Devol skidplate, etc.). Doesn't need anything, other than maybe an oil change. Tons of spares, including sprockets, oil and filters, repair manuals, etc.

Not sure if thats what you're looking for or not.

Here's the scoop. I currently have the bike. 2 of the exhust joins were leaking so I got new seals and took the exhust system off. In taking off the front header, both header bolts snapped off at about 15 lb/ft pressure. Its a know issue on tlrs I found out. I spent a few hours at tricky mikes yesterday and he welded a t-bar to one of the existing bolts and with little pressure the bolt broke again. They are very soft and they are also melded into the head. The head needs to come off and have the bolts drilled out and be re-tapped. Not a huge job for someone mechanically minded. I believe the head can come off without motor removal. BTW, sorry Casey.

Also, I can vouch for the bike. Runs well and looks very nice. I have seen some real rat TLs but this one is a nice one.

Damn degs... I"m guessing the couple things we talked about didn't work. what a dumb design of those studs.

Anyways once you get the head off that's a tit machining job, 10 minutes. Bike looked nice otherwise when I saw it.

Yeah, those are a bitch! I snapped one myself. I was able to drill and retap w/o tearing off the head...not impossible. But I've read that Mike is da' man and you guys are probably right that it needs to come off.

There's at least one guy on TLZ selling a spare set if you wanted to go that route. $100/ea. shipped TLZone

GL w/ the sale! TL is a fun bike.
