F/S, Cheap Pit Bikes (not mine, unfortunately)

While picking up a new top end for my dirt bike at lunch I saw a 2005 CRF50 that caught my eye. Asked how much it was thinking my buddy might want it for his son (and trying not to buy it myself, too many other things I need right now). $600. Dude also told me they had an 01 out back that would be for sale for $400 in a couple days. Struck me as a really good deal, I've seen the no-names go for that private sale. I still need boots, a chest/back protector and a new helmet, so I really can't buy one of these. Yes, I'm still trying to convince myself of this.

Anyway, figured i'd throw it out there in case anyone was looking.

Edit: Apparently these are effected by the ban, I thought that enforcement of that had been held off?

Anyway, I don't want to throw this shop under the bus as they've always been good to me, so I removed location from my original post. If an admin or mod wants to delete the whole thread go ahead, and my bad for starting it. I figured it'd be just like the other cheap pit bike from craigslist thread we had a week or so ago.

Hey, I'm still kinda new (at least time wise, apparently I've become quite the post whore). Had he called me out on something stupid I did I would have, but I still don't know where the lines are for legal-type stuff.

Personally, I came really, really close to bringing the thing back with me from lunch. I'd probably have broken down tonight and bought one of them tomorrow if not for just deciding I need to add "new helmet" to the list of gear I need for spring.

Not to interfere with our regularly scheduled fuck you festival, but I just came back from that shop again. Took that lil fiddy for a ride. I've never ridden one of those... holy shit was it fun! I'm going to have soooo much trouble not picking up that 01 for $400. They'll take a check from me, which allows me to spend from the real $ account rather than my play account that the plastic is attached to. Must resist... need to spend $ on gear and the bikes I've got, and possibly a street bike...

They're in northeastern MA. The 05 is already gone, a fellow NESR guy bought it. The 01 is still there, it was getting a new seal and rear tire. Should be out front tomorrow. I'm trying really hard not to buy it, I was over there today looking at something else and told him not to call me when they're done. I'm hoping someone else buys it before I get stupid. Then again, for $400 how stupid can it be?

Since I was there earlier trying to buy another bike they sold Saturday I happen to have the cash on me. I shouldn't have to though, they know me.
