Like you, I LOVE V-twin bikes (RC51, other Ducs, etc.)

The 848 Corse I owned I bought brand new. Broke it in myself. It had plenty of power, amazing looks, incredible stability and that intoxicating sound. I had the suspension setup just about perfect. The bike was just about perfect. I would sit in my garage at night and drink beer with it. We talked, she wooed me. On the road, we danced, it was pretty much motorcycle nirvana. Bliss on two wheels. We did many track days together, she never turned a wheel wrong.

Then, one day, I gave in to a friend with one of those stupid inline literbikes when he said I needed more power....

I traded the 848 Corse, the best bike Ive ever owned or ridden, for an 1198 Corse. Pretty much exactly the same, just with more power, right? Nope.

CLACK CLACK CLACK, too hot, too tempermental, hates the slow speed, its a bitch in traffic, hates around town riding, etc. The 848 with its smooth, quiet, easily engaging wet clutch, willingness to go slow, easy around town riding is a much better streetbike than my 1198.

Dont get me wrong, love my 1198 Corse, it is a gorgeous bike, a serialized, numbered bike with a sexy aluminum tank and I wont ever sell it.....but it will never be the lustful mistress that my 848 Corse was. It will never give me that same dance as my former 848 Corse did. I miss that 848...

Besides, we all know....You'll never use all that power....

Oddly enough, I did get another 848 in addition to my 1198. My current 848 is a racebike only tho...

Took my 2012 848 Evo out yesterday for my first ride of the season. Yea, I've learned to love her.
