if you really want them and no one else can grab them, worst case I can grab them and you can meet me some night while I work in framingham/natick.

Not to mess up the sale, but these are probably not the best tires to be running on the street. They're essentially slicks that had some grooves cut in them to qualify them for racing were you are required to run dot tires, but there is not much sipening for if you ride in the rain and they are very soft, so they will probably wear very quickly. Just saying.

Oh...and alot of people run a 55 on the rear on a liter bike because it's a steeper profile and will give you quicker tip-in without the compromise of going down to a 180 and loosing contact patch.

    Dunlop doesn't make these tires in a 180...it's 190 or 200 only.

And the question asked was "any good for street and occasional trackdays?" Are they the BEST for the street? Hell no. Will they WORK for the street, and be able to run on a trackday once you arrive? Hell yes, and it was in THAT context that the question was answered. Remember that these are being sold at $50 a set, so people are asking trying to guage how much and how far they will get for their money - inexpensive though they may be. Anyone who runs these race-spec DOT tires as their first choice for the street is an idiot - no doubt. But they WILL work in a pinch. The Dunlop Qualifier would be a MUCH better street choice if you can spend the money.

The new-for-2012 USA-made 60 series rear now offers a steeper crown on the tire (for a larger contact patch while cornering) than the 55 series. I have one - but it's already sold and reserved for a specific buyer.

No specific chassis adjustments needed for the 60 series tire as both the 55 and the 60 both have the same diameter being 190's.

not so sure about this part. the 190/55 is different from the GP to the GPA so I gotta assume the 60 would also be different. I wouldn't touch a thing on the street but for track I'm gonna make an adjustment when I get the 60.

and for what its worth if I had a street bike I'd run my own take offs all the time and they are down to the wear bars on the sides. plenty left in the middle which is perfect for street. plus you get that cool street cred with the edges all torn up.

Exactly - they should be fine for what street users will be doing with them.

No adjustments needed when switching to the 60......The 55 and 60 may have a different profile - but the diameter is the same...it's still a 190 with zero growth at speed, so you'd be making adjustments from a 190 to a 190. It's still the same size tire, so..what adjustment is needed? POSSIBLY for the handling while at full lean but, are we really good enough at susupension and our own performances to NEED that adjustment? Hmmmm.......
I'd strongly recommend speaking with Steve before doing so.

    Hey Mike,
Definetly not trying to shit in your fs thread and I think $50 a set is a great price...just wanted the OP to know that these were more "race" than "dot" tires.

I believe you have to adjust the rear hieght a little to run them.

That's what I was told for my R6. Peter from GMD would know.

going from the 190/55 GP to 190/55GPA gives a slight difference in ride height. I had GMD measure and set my bike up last year and the measured diameters are different. Although they are in the same range of where you want your geometry set. The 190/60 has a higher sidewall so unless they did something really weird with the construction its gonna be a bigger diameter. I'm just gonna measure my ride height and make an adjustment. biggest problem for me with a taller rear is getting the bike off the line since the bike is already so high and I'm short.

Tyler, yes, there IS an adjustment needed going from a 180 to a 190 due to the increase in diameter. But we'll give you all the adjustment info you need. Don't worry.

Just my 2cts, I made the switch last race weekend to these with no adjustment to the suspension and had no issues. Not to say that you don't need to make adjustments, however from my experience, it is not mandatory.

Just gonna through this out there too, to solve the issue of using these tires for street use.. I have a set of Pilot Pures setting in my basement that I'd trade for these, then everybody wins.

I'm very interested however my 636 calls for 180/55's and 120/65's. Not sure what I'd have to adjust to make these work. Sounds like a great deal for track days

As stated previousely, these tires are made as a 190 or 200 sized rear only.

The 200 sized rear is a UK-made N-Tec and although it will fit on a 5.5 inch rear rim, it fits best, and is better suited for a 6 inch rear rim.

The 190 size rear WILL fit your 600, it is best suited for a 5.5 inch rear rim (which your 636 has), and is available in both the USA-made and the UK-made N-Tec.

As for your front tire, the profile increase to 70 from the stock 65 is rectified with a suspension adjustment to compensate.

BOTTOM LINE: These tire WILL fit your bike. I'll be able to give you the appropriate suspension adjustment (directly from Dunlop) upon purchase.

If you'll be at the track this weekend, feel free to discuss the needed suspension adjustments with the Dunlop technicians in the Dunlop garage.
    They'll fill you in.

How many sets do you want?
