The givi set up consists of the following (listed with Twisted Throttle prices)
Top case rack PL166 $180
Top case TRK52N $368
Side case rack (quick release leave only 3 small tabs per side when off the bike) PLXR166 $180
Side cases V35 $521
Nice bike! Got exactly the same ;-) Have been eyeing other bikes constantly, but keep coming back to this wonderfully well rounded bike that is very good in everything. What's next on the horizon?

Looking at something more touring specific, maybe even F6B. Really testing the waters and evaluating sell vs. trade vs. sell the bags and keep the bike with some soft bags.
It's my 4th VFr and there's something telling me to keep it.
The F6B is going to have less room than your viffer with that givi setup.
My perspective is either get the 'wing or get a sport tourer with bags. If your concerned about the SO there's no beating the comfort of the full backrest on the wing for the passenger. My wife regularly falls asleep back there.
The F6B is sellable as it isn't as "old manny" as the wing, but first thing you're gonna need is a trunk.
GLWS.
Thread update....
I sold the bike to forum member yucatan. Alan was a pleasure to dela with, offered a fair price and rode away with a great bike this morning.
Never had to deal with Craigslist or eBay or dealers, an absolute pleaure to deal on this board.
p.s. I had a better offer from Ray Ray, but he wanted to pay me in installments....
GBM had one on display at motorcycle night in lowell the other night. Pretty damned nice.. still, >$20k out the door.

F6b as shown above, is a 'wing without trunk, reverse and about 80 lbs.
As Alan said when he picked up the VFr today, " a younger, old man's bike"
Guilty as charged
GBM nuts on price, list isn't OTD on wings.
F6B - Flat 6 Bagger.
Steve, thanks again and it was a pleasure meeting you. The bike is beautiful and you could not have been more prepared to make the deal as seamless as possible; appreciate it. It really is refreshing to buy a bike from someone who actually cares about the bike. This is the first bike I have bought in a while that does not need tires, a new chain and an oil change immediately.
Regarding the "a younger, old mans bike"; actually that was Gerard's (GMAN226) comment, I cannot take credit but probably accurate. I think the FB6 looks like a hell of a ride and there is no crime in wanting to be comfortable <thumbs up>. Good luck finding your next ride and hopefully will see you on the road!

Welcome to the club Alan. Despite your long list of previous, you will find this will be the hardest bike to get rid of ;-)

The f6b deal is done pick up Saturday.
Congrats!
Enjoy the hell out of that powerband. Now I'm not the only one.
<- Wants pictahs...
It was Gerard's comment, a true statement and taken with no offense.
I'm hoping the weather clears enough to pick it up Saturday morning, as I'll be spending the afternoon at lacrosse with my younger son (14).
Every bike I've bought was the last bike I'd buy when I bought it. This one feels the same, but at 53 and more interested in covering time and distance in comfort on two lanes, it's what I've been waiting for Honda to deliver.
Yes, it could be lighter, but the one thing I have really liked about Hondas is that I always feel that once I put the key in and hit the go button, it will take me wherever I want to go flawlessly and with no surprises.
I can't explain it scientifically, it's a belief, a comfort factor, that it will simply run right and do what it is supposed to do.
Some cite this as a lack of character, a bland, boring, soullessness. I think it's exactly what I expect from the engineering. Nobody wants their IT network to have character, nobody wants their production process to have surprises, nobody wants their distribution channels to have charming quirks.
The scenery, fresh air and connection with the road and solitude of the ride is what I like, the machine should disappear beneath me.
Which is no small engineering feat when the machine weighs 800 lbs.
Ride your own ride is a three pronged idea that most of us here strongly believe in.
Ride the way you want to ride, as long as it doesn't put others at risk.
Ride with the gear that suits your risk assessment and tolerance.
Ride what you want to ride.
Now, where can I get a Wild Hogs patch for the vest I just ordered?
I have documentation that verifies this.
Thanks dankats. Bike is immaculate just needs an exhaust. Ordered a Leo Vince last night. That is the one and only item I will be modifying as Steve has this puppy all set up otherwise.
As time goes on and we change what we want or need from a bike changes. Looks like you found the right bike for the times; congrats! That didn't take long. Had I made it to RTE-3 before you were signing paperwork? :-) Good luck and happy and safe travels. And hopefully well see you on the road.

Alan,
I've always been a quiet pipe guy as a rider, and knowing that I was going to take the VFR cross country, I didn't want to add any decibels to my journey through foreign territory where "Bahston-ers" on "crotch rockets" might be less than welcome.
Having said that, good aftermarket pipes really do make that magical V4 sing beautifully!
Yeah I intend on keeping the "db killers" in. I just want a "little" more as I am not one to attract attention. It's just SO quiet from Honda. For instance the stock exhaust on my 1098 was perfect for me, never needed to replace, same with my FZ1. If it's too loud I am going to throw the stock back on.

It's a little like a good music system, good pipes reproduce the full spectrum of the engine's character, bad pipes, like twin 15" bass boxes in a crapped out 88 civic, merely provide muddy thump and annoy the neighbors.
