Free to a good home (750 motor)

I have a Ducati 2 valve 750 motor I need to get outta my garage. I had it sold, but shipping costs made it prohibitive. Come and get it and it's FREE!

    1998
    40K miles
well maintained, but it's been sitting for 2.5 years.
Cracked oil cooler mounting tab. This is part of the valve cover. Easy replacement. Needs new belt covers too (or run it without for that ratracer look)

    Hatfield, MA

    ooooo. I might take it.

Could some confirm if the 750 and 900 share the same barrels??

For example, could be used to make a 944. B-)

I can't confirm it, but I *think* they share the same bottom end.

    Doesn't share the same top.

I already have a motor lower end that doesn't work, haha.

I need to resist the temptation to add to the collection.

So no, the 900 uses larger stud spacing than the 750, and as such won't take the same cylinders/heads without a little work.

Do, he won't take a half eaten fried banana sandwich as payment for shipping... and what are you going to do with a 750 motor?

if you're serious about free. I'll project it into the quad frame for some serious dirty fun!

Paul is there anything else you can say about it? why not fixed and reinstalled? does it come with any accessory support (gear box, pig tail, fuel delivery)?

I have a frame and a bunch of other parts that I might use to put a bike together.

O man if this engine has all the accessories it would make a kick ass go cart.

Re: Free to a good home (750 motor)

Yes, It has all pigtails and full carb setup. It didn't go back into the bike because it was in a head on with an oldsmobile. The motor only sustained the crack I mentioned. It was as reliable as a stone, and I had just done a valve adjust and oil change before the accident. It wasn't out for service.

I have a swingarm, rear wheel and custom exhaust also, but would like to get something for that stuff...

Someone come get it. I'm not shipping it. I don't want the bother of palletizing and moving it around.

I can't find it at the moment, thought it was off thekneeslider, but nothing there, and The Duc Cutter site doesn't have it amongst their dirt conversions either. I'll keep looking. : )
