Im going to be starting track days this summer, are these good tires(supercorsa) to start out(do they have enough tread left). I have to get rid of my old tires and was just wondering.

The catch:

The other catch:

The tires could be old and you guys need to be aware of this.

Especially the Dragon slick. they have not been made for a few years so that's an old tire.

If you want to use take-offs, you should be aware that they might have been frozen, overheated etc etc. before you mount them, try to bend the tire and see if any cracks form. Also, try dropping the tire from a few feet in the air to see if the tire cracks. Take care first time on them and get a few laps in SLOWLY to make sure they are ok. Then warm them up slowly to operating temp before riding hard on them.

With that said, if you are a good rider, well, I use take offs on my street bike.

This saves me $$. The bike is a 1k and I take it very easy for the first 20mins just to be safe.

I have no less than ten sets sitting in my garage, they are old and have been frozen many times...

All tires in this thread have been properly stored, are very pliable and in good shape. No cracks or defects to speak of.

A little used, yes.

Unsafe for trackdays, no.

Camera is in my brother's car.

They're in good shape with roughly 1/2 tread remaining....no scalloping, chopping or weather cracks.
