I know I am a newbie here but also know this could be too good of a deal not to pass on. I bought a kind of beat 2002 Katana a couple of months ago thinking if I bought some missing parts and gave it some TLC, it would serve me well, and it has. I bought it for $1,100 and have since bought a main fairing, mirror, windscreen, vc gasket, spark plug tube seals, etc. I have put around 1000 miles on it and never hesitate to just jump right on whenever the weather allows, including over 100 miles on Sunday alone. Though cosmetically it is lacking, it is a pretty solid mechanical base. Hypothetically speaking, this bike feels pretty solid up to a speedo indicated 135mph. The throttle cable seems to stick on the return sometimes and lubing helped a bit. The main issue is that even my best contact has not been able to get me a title for it. I actually HAD the title but it got signed over from an insurance company, to Argo Cycles, to another private party. There was a tax issue and the state of Maine is basically unwilling to do anything with anyone except the AWOL previous owner. If you feel like you can get a title for it somehow via abandoned title law or something else by all means go for it, but I don't like the bike enough to spend any more time an effort on this bike. I am into it around $2000 right now and will not get any more buried. I have linked the CL ad that has a pic and am open to offers, don't worry about offending me as I have pretty thick skin and am just looking to cut my losses, though I am not desperate either.
Thanks, Dominic

if you wait for a 1.5 years, you can get it registered in RI without a title.
2010 Kawasaki Z1000
I could do that yes, but I am more likely to part it out on KatRiders or just ghost ride it into a busy street than look at it for that long. I'd just as soon take it in the browneye and get it over with from some sidewayz visor craigslist lowballer who wants to stunt it out than keep it. You still technically need a previous registration for a 10 yr old vehicle in RI, or if you have a dealer write you a B.O.S. that will work also, but it isn't just a walk right in and get it done type of deal for most people.

Lowered price to a rock bottom $700 - From here it goes part out or I drop it on myself at a high enough speed to go on disability.
Sold.
