    FS: 2002 YZ250 - Completely Stock. $1,200

Hi guys, here is my craigslist ad. NESR Price, $1,200.

    http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/mcy/4079694545.html

A little more info on the bike.

My friend purchased this as an impulse, good deal 7 years ago from someone who needed money. He had no dirt bike experience but rode a motorcycle for a few years, how hard could this be? He crashed it instantly and never rode it again. Legitimately afraid of the power. I purchased it from him 3 years ago. When I bought it I went through the bike and top end completely. It is 100% stock and everything was damn near mint.

I have ridden it off and on for the past three years in the woods. It starts first kick every-time, idles wonderfully, and is scary fast. That being said, it is still on the same, minty top end as when I bought it. That being said, it still runs like it was brand spanking new. It is an unbelievable machine and I have had absolutely no reason to go in there and rebuild it.

I change fluids at the beginning and middle of the season, put an air filter on at the start of the season, and rinse it down after rides. Bearings are good, tires are okay. Expansion chamber has a dent but it isn't affect performance...at least not to anywhere I would notice it. I woods ride it and crash so plastics are scratched. Suspension is stock, I've played with the clickers and that's it.

I have trails you can try it out on if interested. I'm pretty firm at the $1,200 right now. You can try to convince me otherwise, but I think it is worth the $1,200 all day.

Bike is located in North Reading, Massachusetts.

I work pretty long hours, so if you want to make an "appointment" I can do my best to be around on weekdays by 8pm. If you want I can also have my dad let you take a look at the bike but he won't be to answer any questions or a deal with. His hours are just a bit more manageable.

Shoot me a text when you have a day off. Give me a couple of days notice if possible and we can take it from there

Niiiiiiice! I loves me some YZ250. I've got the prior generation, with proper care and feeding they are neigh indestructible. Good learner mounts, but not street legal without a LOT of hassle, may be unpossible given your home locale.

Seriously? I guess if you weren't going to ride MX and lugged it around off the pipe all the time...no way I would recommend a 250 2t as a learner bike.

I learned on one, hell mine's a punched out 265 with porting. Heavier flywheel / flywheel weight does a LOT to tame them down, keeping the revs down further tames the beast. Based on Dana's riding she's also pretty good at throttle control.

Note, at no time did I say I was now a highly skilled dirt rider.

I can however safely navigate trails and tracks.

Rather than clutter up the for sale thread any more, why don't you start a learner bike discussion in the dirty area, and I'll drag my crazy ideas over there and we can chat and Dana and others can observe and or pester?
