I have a bose 6-cd changer that goes to my wave radio, and one of the pins in the connector broke. Anyone know how to repair it?
Can you post a pic please? I can likely do something with it.
I've pinned wires before, the actual pins are easy to install and cheap. Not sure about replacing them in a connector but I would think there's not much more to it.
most of these connectors are standard, or at least the pins are. the clip into the housing and with a bit of finesse they also pop right out. cut the pin off, re-crimp, and insert new pin. the hardest part is finding the right pin. try tyco for pins
As you can see in the pictures below one of the gold pins broke off.

Molded connector. Toss out and get new.
EDIT: I can solder a new pin in but it but it prolly won't last too long.

that is a 9 pin s-video connector. simple stuff. as long as you cut the connector after you write down which wires go where you can resolder all connections back in their original positions.
the web turned this up
it can be found below for a little over 20 bucks. after that clip it off strip the sheathing and match it to the wiring of your failed connector. A little solder and electrical tape and you are back in business for a long time

There's that but the wire looks kinda ugly after.
...and no electrical tape. Shrink tube.
So the 'bose link' connector is not an s-video cable.
If I buy one of these could you do the same as described abive (cut and solder)?

You will need whatever will plug into that Bose. If it's a connector which is styled only for Bose then some form of that connector is what's needed.
What's the other end look like? Is that a Bose-only connector as well?
I might have those exact pins around here somewhere....
ill let you know tomorrow.
