Seems as if it has the capacity depending on the tongue weight... My car has a harness marked "towing" yet my manual says not to tow with the standard transmission..... ..........

Assume your car is the same model sold in other countries? The US's crash regulations are extremely stringent compared to other countries; authorizing towing, or offering a stock hitch, causes most US passenger cars' crash rating to drop below 5 stars, so manufacturers don't offer it here. However, it doesn't quite make sense to design/make an entirely different wiring harness only for US cars...hence, your plug.

I think the only decent sheds for $1000 are the Rubbermaids. Steel sheds rot out quickly and the wind can blow them apart (looks like a bomb hit it)!
