I know I love the hawk but she love’s going on rides now so I need a good 2up bike. I will trade for a nice 2up bike if you got something.
I will get another Hawk for sure. $2,800

The mods I have done to my 89 Hawk.

Move the battery where the coolant res was. (custom battery box)
Stage 3 jet kit (factory pro)
Uni pods with a 15 degree off set.
SV 650 fuel pump.
06 CBR 600 Front end with wheel and fender. Front wheel PC gold
Black berry custom top tree.
CBR900 rear shock.
F2 gas tank.(HD petcock)
Koso Speedo (RX-1).
Ducati 748 tail with sequel LED tail light.
Ducati rear rim. PC gold. Tire is a 180 (G’s spindle kit)
RX1 can with homemade mid pipe on stock headers.
89 FZR 600 head light.
F2 Handle bar (buttons?) horn and start and turn etc.
Chinese nock offs are.
Clip-on’s
Rotors
Foot pegs
Suspension adjusters (top of forks.)
Clutch and front brake levers.

Well the sale of the Hawk is not looking good at all. I’m fine with that anyway. Here is the thing I can get a TL 1000S for $500. I’m not 100% sure of the year but I do know its fuel injected. The bad part is its missing 90% of the sensors all the parts missing are like $1000.

What should I do?

Pass it up. The TL has a great motor but the rear shock will not make you happy. Especially 2 up!

There are othere options out there for the rear shock on the TL. As smutty says the stock rear shock spring combo can leave a bit to be desired however the Bitubo option that I have and the Penske option that is out there are pretty good remedies for that issue. There are numerous TL message boards out there with a plethora of information about the TLS and things that help it be a bit better than it was stock. Seeing as you don't seem to afraid of a little bit of a project the TLS can be a fun bike to work out the kinks on and does make a great street bike.

No bites on the Hawk at all. So In a few weeks I may pick up that TL.

That's a really awesome bike man. I'm surprised it hasn't generated more interest. Might be a tough market for older bikes at the moment. My FZR hasn't gotten any interest either.
