AR-15 for short money - prefer NH sale

Edit 1-12-2008: This rifle is now on consignment at Alstead gun shop in Alstead, NH. I don't know what the price is now, but it's definitely more than $450; $450 is what I will be getting when it sells.

I've had this rifle for about 7 years and I've only shot about 50 rounds through it. A friend borrowed it once and put maybe 200 rounds through it. That's it!

I bought the complete upper and a lower parts kit from "model 1 sales" and put everything on a Olympic "Plinker" receiver.

It has a couple small marks on it from when I originally put it together without the proper tools and slipped pushing pins in. Nothing major, but I was pretty pissed at the time.

Comes with a plastic carry case, a USMC manual, take down pin tool, 40rd, 30rd, and 5rd clips. Looking for a quick $450.

Wylee, I'm in VT, but I'm interested. If necessary we could do an FFL transfer?

VT would be okay, I just really don't want to deal with shipping and FFL's on both ends. It would have to go through an FFL to anyone in VT, but I could meet somewhere in VT since I'm right on the border.

Not a chance, it hasn't even been out of the case in a couple years.

Is it legal for us to meet somewhere in VT with it?

I meant at a dealer in VT. Interstate transfers must go through an FFL....Federal law

Found this guy on GunBroker.com. I don't mind driving over to the Barre area most any evening during the week.

I've called Benoit before to ask him about transfers, as I was interested in buying a gun on grunbroker. His # was dead when I tried, I also searched for other numbers, no luck.

R&L Archery in Barre is probably the next best bet.

Question, why would a private sale require going through an FFL? I've never heard of anyone going through a licensed dealer for a person to person private sale?

Also another thing to do before selling this AR....pull it apart, look at the Bushmaster web site and be damn sure there are no M-16 parts in it, not even one. If there is one m-16 part, it's an illegal machine gun. I had an AR that came from a kit, and uh...it had a lot of M-16 parts. It wasn't full auto at all, but the trigger, disconnector, hammer, and safety lever were all M-16 parts.

Wylee is from bath huh? I live in Bradford VT. I had a guy on a black RR following me through Haverhill last summer, came outta 116 then went south on 10. I later saw the same guy riding out rt 25 in Bradford. You possibly?

Interstate transfers require an FFL. Intrastate is not a problem with the feds.

How would ya know if they were M16 or AR15? Nothing is stamped and most of the stuff is interchangeable. The fire control group require a tax stamp to purchase, but the rest of the parts are not regulated to my knowledge.

I bought the RR at the end of the season. If you had said you saw an idiot on a blue KLR, that might have been me. I also sold my blue TL early this past summer. I think the guy on the RR you saw lives right on main street in North Haverhill.

No one has given a definite "I'll take it yet."

First to post "I'll take it" gets it. But understand if you are not a NH resident, it will have to pass through an FFL.

check out this site, it clearly shows M-16 vs AR-15 parts:

    AR15.COM :: Information

just pop the rear pin that holds the upper/lower together and look around, pull the bolt out if you need to. Illegal parts happen in Kit guns a lot, no biggie really but technically they need to be removed and destroyed ASAP as long as it's not a registered NFA weapon.

I didn't see any blue KLR's that I remember. I did make it out over that way a lot, into the whites, etc. There are some pretty decent roads in your immediate area. Maybe when the snow melts and the temp comes up we can hook up for a ride or something

    Bump...anyone want it?

If I don't have cash in hand by Wednesday @ 19:00, it's going on consignment at Alstead gun shop.

This will not be sold to anyone outside NH without going through an FFL!

I think so. I expect they will put it on the rack for $500 and I'd get $450.
