Wanted ~ Pre-'70 Triumph 650

Hi all,
I know this is a long shot however, you may know someone who knows some who has a cousin with an old Triumph hangin' around gathering dust and clogging up a garage... Maybe the Wife said "Get it out of here...!"

Let me help...

I am looking for a Pre-1970 Triumph 650 either the TR-6 or Bonnie, not fussy, it should be anything from a rolling basket to a project in boxes of parts although Complete please.

If you know of such an animal, please drop me a line...

Nope but thanks...

The '71 TR-6 and Bonnie went to the oil in the frame configuration and that caused all sorts of other problems...
The 500cc Tiger and Daytona remained in the older frame until about '74 however I still prefer pre-70 650... and to really get picky, '67 ~ 70 ...

Can you imagine how loud that '71 is with the quasi TT pipes...? And how does one use that rear peg...? Maybe with Red Heels...

I prefer to restore older Triumphs and Nortons vs buy something already done. This does two things, I get to spent the ridiculous amount of money on it and do the work on it...

My neighbour has one but it's spotless and original 1969 bonnie 650 with about 6500 miles on it and he's looking for about 7 grand which sounds like a lot but the bike is flawless and I think worth the money. It still has the original rubber on it. He's the original owner and has a nice collection of bikes but this is the only triumph twin all the other stuff is singles and trials bikes.
I have a 1964 750 norton chop but not sure i want to part with it yet

Yeah, that is a good year too however, more than I can spend and I want to do a resto... I get to pour all the money into it that way...

I had a '69 T120 R years ago too, what a bonehead for letting that go, oh well.

Good stuff though, keep 'em comin'...

I did talk with the guy in Philly finally last night... oil frame models is all that he has left and that 500... All the Norton stuff went to one guy up state from him, sounds like a Brit guy from many years ago... Keep lookin'

The SS is a possibility, need to find out just exactly what that is... how many were made. It has the old distributor in it...! Holy shit...! I really would like a 650....

The 3T in AZ.... nice thought but too far away.

The Pre-unit in Ohio could be brought back to stock... not a bad price either.

I don't buy motorcycles off eBay, parts are no problem but eBay... not so much. I prefer to engage in dialog with the seller from Craigslist and other lists...

I have found a perfect project in Conn that is just a tad out of my budget but I am in hopes to make the deal. If he comes down just a bit I can scare up some more coin and do it. Just what I'm looking for too.... Wish me luck...

I went to the trusty reference books and looked up the "SS" designation on that '62 500... Seems that was what it was called from late 1960 through mid '63 before they (Triumph) decided to break it out in other models such as the T-100 C, T-100R and all that... nothing special like I was thinking.

There certainly are a few for sale out there right now, what are you looking for...?

I really hope this deal in Conn comes together... just what I'm looking for.

Have you tried Trader Online Magazine New and Used Classifieds For Sale - TraderOnline.com ..? You can modify the search to be very specific...
