I have a Joe Rocket Ballistic armored, waterproof textile jacket with removable quilted liner that served me well when I started riding, and will be great for a new rider.

Size men's Medium. Tag says Small but that's an obvious mistake as it fits me great and I'm 5' 9" and 180 lbs. Hi-visibilty orange, elbow, shoulder, and back armor, adjustable waist and sleeves, zip out liner. Has been washed, but still shows some bug stains etc.
