My son is looking to sell his 2002 KTM520 in motard trim .
The bike has a clean Mass title and is currently registered.
It has the KTM, Behr wheels along with "Braking front rotor and billet caliper. Acerbis headlight and fender, Trail Tech vapor dash and Baja designs rear fender.
When we got it, I did a full motor strip and rebuild, this included replacing all gearbox bearings, all oil seals, new cam chain tensioners, valve stem oil seals, filters and gaskets throughout with OEM items as well as some recommended upgrades (cam chain sprocket & lower cam chain guide). The Valves were re-ground and the crank, cylinder and piston were all measured and were found to be within factory tolerances. We also have a brand new WPS lithium battery.
The total parts cost was just shy of $500.
The bike pulls like a train and runs strong through the rev range.
The bad!
The following do not work... Electric start, rear brake light, high beam and speedometer.
It is also difficult to start but once running there are no issues.
The wiring is very basic and to be honest, could probably do with being completely re-wired.
The items that are not working are not hooked up, the rear light just needs a switch adding, the speedo has no pick up and the starter is disconnected.
We are looking to move this before winter otherwise I will keep it, sort out the issues and either ride it next year or re-advertise at a higher price.
If you are looking for an easy winter project (assuming you are pretty good with electrics!) this is a decent bike to have in your garage!
No nonsense NESR price. $3300.
