I've attached a pic of my new motard too!
It's mostly there... you're going to need to pick up some forks and triples and a shock... but I'll throw in a new set of excel wheels with it for an extra 100 bucks. I've got a slipper clutch and some sets of plastics too, another 100 bucks.
Come by ASAP and leave with it all!
well played! hahaha

Anyone in the area wanna check that rig out? It's going to need some TLC... but if it's mostly intact it's a cheap start towards a motard or mono-gp conversion?

That's what the GS is this year, gas, oil, go. I'm not touching it otherwise. I'm checking the valves, cleaning the carbs, fresh oil and filter, and that's about it for tweaks this winter. I've got new wheels in the basement that'll get fresh BT090s and rotors this spring, I'll put new Bridgestone rains on my existing wheels, and I've got a 95% complete 89 GS500E ready to go as a spares donor should the need arise. I've got a bellypan for Daytona, so as far as I'm concerned the GS is good to go. The only thing holding it back on the track right now is the jockey not the machine.
The motard/mono-gp is something I've wanted to do for a few years now, and it's looking like I may be able to give it a go, so I'm going for it. If it works, great, maybe I'll retire the GS from the track or just keep it as a rain mount/backup. Or the motard/mono-gp may never see the track, who knows? The idea intrigues me, I doubt Roland Sands is going to hand me one ready to roll to flog for a day so...
You wanna see me on a traditional bike, put it in front of me, and maintain it. If I'm putting my money and time into it, it's going to be something that entertains my brain while I'm working. If I don't have any interest building it, why would I have any interest in riding it?
Now that we've had that little derailment... back to the thread, already in progress.
I just want to see you Racing something competitive, I think you are selling you self short by racing the oddballs, I would like to see you Win and you definitly could on a more standard bike.
This thread is long derailed the guy got a bike two months ago?
